Looking back at Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga's first five months in office, do you miss former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe?

I do miss Abe a little bit. Although he didn't achieve much domestically, he did give Japan a face on the international stage over five years after a period of revolving door PMs. Even my relatives and friends overseas knew who the Japanese prime minister was. And at least Abe could smile. I don't think I have ever seen Suga smile. He is a non-entity.

In a "worst PM" contest would be a toss up between the two. Both pathetically useless.

No, no, and NO!

Not in the least. Abe's contempt for the working class showed through from the moment he was elected and the yen came crashing down as he tried to bamboozle the public into thinking inflation and devaluation of everyone's savings would be good for them.

Suga hasn't done anything like that. His dealings with the coronavirus might or might not be effective, but I haven't seen any open contempt for working people or attempts to deceive them from him yet.

Abe's first year was so unspeakably bad it's been erased from the history books in true Soviet style. His second go-around, when he faced no opposition from within or without his own party and had carte blanche to tackle Japan's myriad problems, was a total failure.

Despite all opinion polls showing unequivocal popular support for Japan's Peace Constitution he wasted eight years in a futile attempt to have it changed. He achieved nothing. Apart from falling into a bunker playing golf with Trump, his diplomacy was a failure.

Domestically, he impoverished his own people by devaluing their savings with his inflation plan and then wasted billions on ridiculous white elephants like the Maglev and the Olympics. Clueless, inept, tone deaf, lacking in compassion or even a basic understanding of the daily lives of the people, the list is endless.

Not at all, Abe and Suga are essentially one in the same. Abe looks kinder though.

Aso? Yeah, there's a HUGE line for worst PM in Japan's History.. take a number and stand in line.

They could elect a Labrador as PM and it wouldn’t make any difference.

Maybe even do a better job.

exactly. 2 cheeks of the same backside.

and finally I saved the best post for last..

Alfie, Awesome post bro!

No. Despite both being worthless (not sure how about in the long run, though), this one seems being less emotional and that may be better in foreign politics. Abe was just like the bully in the playground, running around, punching and bullying everyone.
