Moderator, can you fix that unnecessary post above by purging it from existence?

There is no way I could ever make a generalized list like this so I broke it down into categories. Here are my opinions: Best sci-fi movie: Bladerunner Best western: Tombstone Honorable mention: The Outlaw Josie Wales, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid Best feel good drama: The Shawshank Redemption Best crime movie: The Godfather Best Comedy: Stripes Honorable mention: Ghostbusters (Bill Murray and Harold Ramis are an unparalleled comedy duo) Best dialog in a movie: Pulp Fiction Best animated movie: Ralph Bakshi’s Wizards Best sports movie: (tie) Bull Durham and Field of Dreams (Kevin Costner should only be allowed to make baseball movies) Honorable mention: Rudy Best political movie: All the President’s Men Best horror movie: Psycho Best war movie: (tie) The Battle of Midway and Platoon

Rocky XXII: Rocky vs. Clone of Rocky

The Janglish Patient (Japanese remake of Ralph Fiennes film, w/ speech aphasic)

Doc Bollywood (Just look at that Michael J. Fox dance!)

Waterworld (post-global-warming remake of Costner film as documentary)

My Big Fat Reanimated Gay Greek Wedding (remake as horror romance w/ digitally rendered Heath Ledger)

There's Something About Mari (Japanese Ben Stiller remake)

The Magnificent Mild Seven Samurai (starring Beckie and funded by Japan Tobacco and Phillip Morris; courageous samurai defend civil liberties, including smoking)

An Officer and a Gentleman: Military re-remake of My Big Fat Reanimated Gay Greek Wedding

Star Trek XXI: The Search for Spork

Sen to Chihiro no Kagamikakushi: Documentary on putting on makeup on the subway

Front

The first 20 minutes of Saving Private Ryan (not the rest) would rate very highly too

I have to disagree, The last twenty minutes when he asked his wife 'Te'll me I was good man'.....That got to me on a level that I never thought a movie could. Glad though you can relate to the movie and why I consider in my top ten.

No "Princess Bride"? Don Diego de Montoya must be turning in his father's grave.

Star Wars Blazing Saddles Saving Private Ryan Das Boot Terminator Aliens Rat Race Dr. Strangelove Sento Chihiro no Kamikakuchi (Spirited Away) I'm with F/C and this one.

Number 1 Jeremiah Johnson, with Robert Redford the story and the scenery makes it all worthwhile, highly recommended if you never seen or heard of it.

Ahh what the hell, I need a break from work so it's worth consideration.

In no particular order.

Lord of the Rings (The whole trilogy - I count it as one long movie. I'm amazed they turned such a complex book into a coherent visual masterpiece) Star Wars (A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back - ahh the memories of childhood) The Godfather (Parts 1 and 2 - hey, I'm a guy, enough said) Schindlers List (Not something I want to watch very often, but probably the most important movie ever made) Platoon (I actually think Stone's "Salvador" is much rawer and provocative, but I give it to Platoon for Willem Dafoe and Tom Berenger) Lawrence of Arabia (for somehow keeping you interested for 4 hours) There's something about Mary (for breaking all the rules) The Departed. (I wanted to include something recent, and this is the best one I have seen lately). Dances with Wolves (from an era when it was cool to be a Kevin Costner fan) Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind (my favourite Miyazaki anime.)

Pulp Fiction, Braveheart, Sin City, Seoponje( not sure on the spelling, Its a Korean flick), Apocolypto, Natural Born Killers, The 36th Chamber of Shaolin, The Acid House,Zatoichi, King Kong( the original), Scarface(oops that makes 11)

Sarge - I've got Homeward Bound, it's up there in the 'anything with dogs' section, together with Benji, Beethoven, K9, etc etc etc. Don't know Look Who's Talking 3 - thought that series was babies? Have to go and have a look in the video shop. Thanks.

I forgot the Great Escape, Rainman, Magnificent Seven, Seven Samurai, The King and I, Indie Jones and the Whatever, and the one with Harrison Ford as a high-flying lawyer who loses his memory and turns honest.

Cleo - Two movies YOU must see are Homeward Bound and Look Who's Talking 3. Trust me on this.

My 10 favorites? Difficult question... most likely Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure and Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey would make the list, as would Coming to America and Starship Troopers and Starship Troopers 2. Just kidding about the last two ha ha ha
