have your say

Once it becomes safe to travel again without the hassles of coronavirus tests, quarantines and being vaccinated, which countries are going to be top of your list to visit?

Isn’t it safe to travel now?

It is not unsafe, is it?

Hmm I think I would just like to continue my complete travel of Japan and add another pin or two to my map.

First home. Then, I have been thinking of going to flight school for a long time. Maybe in LA?

Then Europe. London, Paris, perhaps Milan.

I haven't left Japan in around 15 years or so, long before corona, and I have no plans to go anywhere anytime soon, no matter the conditions of air travel. The TSA in the US and airlines in general have made the experience absolutely horrible. Why leave such a great country? I can't imagine a scenario in which I would willfully go to another country. Japan is the best.

Japan. Now when can I get my jab?

If they require masks on flights or forced vaccinations, nowhere.

If they don't probably Russia or Scandinavia.

Canada, my favorite country in the world

...without the hassles of coronavirus tests, quarantines and being vaccinated,

That is with high probability not going to happen anymore. The damage has been done by too late reactions in spring when there still was the possibility high to enclose and extinguish the virus completely through a very few of harsh and regionally very limited lockdowns. Chances to correct this mismanagement are getting lower every single second now and you even cannot communicate with or convince the people of doing so.

Japan, Ukraine, Nepal, Turks and Caicos.

@Pukey, the conflict with my son's sked was the main reason then. Last year I had actually paid and booked as early as June but had to cancel it because of a new job. I was out of work then and receiving unemployment insurance and planned to spend a month. Just sad I had that job for less than a month kind of duped since at the Hello Work office I made it clear that I want to work for 8 hrs and I was allowed to work by that factory for 4 hrs. Been yrs I felt I'm being hammered down though. Been a diligent and quiet worker without any complain re hard and dirty work though. Thanks for voicing out your concern. Out of work again since mid Sept. Sigh!!!!

Just like @Toasted, to my homeland too! It's been 6 too looooong yrs!

And you wait 6 long years to suddenly pine for your country. What stopped you from going during the 5 years before the pandemic?

Canada, my home country. I usually go back to visit my family in the summers. In the winter, I have always enjoyed trips to South East Asia. Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Bali (Indonesia) were great, but I like visiting new places. Maybe Fiji is next.

London, Tblisi, and Hanoi top the list. Senegal if I can work it in.

Heaps of places! Just avoiding Chinese tourists everywhere I go though.

None. I don't think we will be doing anymore flying.

Sorry to hear that, zichi. Is that for personal reasons or that you're not optimistic that the pandemic will ease?

If it's the former, it's ok, you don't have to go into detail.

My homeland.

Everywhere else (and there are many places I'd like to visit) comes secondary.

Let's hope we all get to see our families and friends abroad once again.
