I've got no problem with the demonstrators, as long as they are non-violent. The trouble is that a few anarchists always show up and cause the violence at these events.
One thing demonstrators should remember is that they do not represent their countries. The leaders do, at least the democratically elected ones. A democracy is electing leaders to make decisions for us, even if we don't agree with them sometimes.
First and foremost, what did anyone expect given what the capitalist system has dumped on the world. So far, the protests have been relatively mild. A few broken windows are nothing compared to the broken lives that the banks and the speculators have created.
Keeping quite is the worse thing people can do at a time like this.
Brilliant, wish i had been there, but dissapointed that the turnout were poor. What's wrong with people these days? There would have been 10 times more people before and loads more damage and coppers hurt.
We beat Thatcher so we can beat anyone with people power. Where have all the boot boys gone?
Just hdeard great news that in Stradburg it is kicking off big time, with mass riots, nice one lads.
ha ha ha ... that HYPOCR-EATS article in the Globe said it all for me. if you steal millions, you get a slap on the wrist. steal a loaf of bread and you'll get life imprisonment ... ha ha ha. justice? no, just us.
The coppers did a good job. Split them up into tiny groups and wouldnt let them out for hours, or go to the loo. By the time they were freed all they could do was walk away cross legged. Good tactic.
Not much. Mostly these people on the protests are a bunch of middle class rich kids who've never had to work for a living - though I'll take my hat off to them for their imagination and creativity in the things they do to try and hide their upbringing.

The guy holding the sign, "Bankers Are Wankers," pretty much sums up my feelings, too.

The whole thing reminded me of a Monty Python film.
"Bloody Peoples Front for the Liberation of Judea - splitters!!!"
"The Popular Peoples Front for the Liberation of Judea are the real deal."

Because China's economy (GDP) is not shrinking like advanced countries.

Unemployment figures are much more important for economists - not so easy to massage.

Protests are fine but the violence and riots are counterproductive. Unless you are a thieving scum looter.
