To what extent, if at all, have you felt lonely due to social isolation amid the pandemic?

None. I just envy those who can WFH as I have to go to the office every day

Not at all.

I have the company of JT commentators to look forward to.

Somewhat, as it's been harder to catch up with friends in person and impossible to visit family. While chatting on video is OK and arguing with people on JT is fun, it's no match for in-person communication with family and friends.

Thanks, scamdemic.

On a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being in solitary confinement and 10 being in a festival, I would feel like a 5 or a 6, normal. Most of my friends and family I can contact them online, along with the everyday joy of interacting with fellow strangers on JT and other social media. I can't say I'm lonely, but I can say that my life has been quieter. Thank goodness for also being able to avoid my coworkers, they're one part of my social life that I'd rather not see.

The only time I have started to feel lonely has been since my boss ordered us all back into the office.

I have to leave a loving family and slobbery dog to stand in a crammed train for an hour then sit in a silent, soul-sucking office all day.

None. My job has changed only a little and my private life none at all.

Did it for ten years, minus the dog. Doesn't get any better. Maybe look for a new job?

It's the dog that makes the difference.

I haven't. I wish the wife and kids would buzz off for a weekend. My FIL and I have missed being able to visit the local boozer for some peace.

You're not wrong there. There's only one set of footsteps rushing to the door to welcome me home at night.

I would hate to come home to only the sound of dog footsteps. I don't have a dog and that would be really disturbing to hear.

No sound of footsteps rushing to the door here.

Mr cleo tells me that when I'm out both dogs and the cat lie down in the genkan waiting for me to come back.

I'd like to say none, but I noticed how nice it felt to hang out with friends the past weekend over somewhat socially distant coffee -- in person. Definitely not suffering at all or feeling lonely, but I do think that the lack of going out and meeting people can lead to isolation for many, and in some cases a decline in people skills. People seem colder.
