Elon Musk may see a rightward shift in America, engineered in part by oligarchs like himself, and is tacking Twitter politically in that direction.

He is endorsing a culture war Republican corporate tool like Desantis.

Supporting this political side may be good for his bottom line in the long run but the prospects for Twitter are not looking good at the moment.

It is also calling into question his commitment to the ideals of Iain Banks, whose Culture books have been said to inspire Musk.

Who cares what that narcissist does with his money? He's driven Twitter to the ground and it will soon be buried six feet under. He ain't no messiah, that's for sure. Except to himself.

Never had Twitter and never will. Same with all social media.

It seems like he is aiming to make Twitter into a vehicle for love and peace.

I'm a big fan of the changes. What's not to like?

We get free speech back.

And just as important, Twitter Blue at 8$ a month will put an end to the poseurs out there who try to impersonate me with my following now north of 375 (yes, the shadow banning has stopped)

Want to stand on my platform with my influence? Go ahead.

But now its gonna cost you hard cash.

Management-wise, he's clearly making it up as he goes along, to the point that the myth of Elon as some sort of business genius is likely shattered.

All of this just to parrot lazy, third-rate right-wing takes and to amplify the voices of some of the worst people on the internet.

At this rate, it's not unfeasible that he might soon be considered a liability for both Tesla and SpaceX.

However, it's got a lot of people talking about him, so he must think it's "worth it" to him on some level.

You mean the influx of $8 meme's, fake blue check accounts and non stop nonsensical posts?

Yeah, he's doing a FABULOUS job............

My local dog grooming parlour has over a 1000 followers on Twitter.

You would reach more people if you just wrote it on the toilet wall in the park.

Seeing how the left is freaking out about it tells me he must be doing something right.

Considering the meltdown among the wokesters, he's doing a brilliant job. Thoroughly enjoying it.

Doing an outstanding job without a doubt.

liberals cant play unless it’s an unlevel playing field with all the rules in their favor.

If Musk believes he is doing a stellar job then he can't complain if people delete accounts and companies pull their adverts.

Oh?

“Musk Touts ‘All-Time High’ Twitter Signups And Active Users As He Promises New Features”

and the advertisers seemed fine with bots, blatant left wing censorship and kiddie pics.

but not ok with free speech? That reflects badly on them, not Musk.

He's killing Twitter but at least it's not boring. I'm enjoying watching the downfall and shaking things up.

Elon is doing a great job. Cleaned house and cut dead wood. Starting to hire again. Making intelligent decisions on adding new services. Please bring back Vine!

@kyushubill. quoting: Never had Twitter and never will. Same with all social media.

The comments section of the JT qualifies as social media, as it is Web 2.0 content. So you do have it.

Regarding Musk. Brexit-style wrecking ball tactics. Doesn't work any better on tech systems than on national economies. Good coders are hard to find. Without them, services fall over.

I get where you’re coming from and I agree with the sentiment, but you do post here.

Japan is mostly a right-wing country so I doubt it will have a major negative impact here.
