What are some of the worst movies you saw this year?

Can't add much to the worst movies of tis year, avoided most. From what I read there won't much improvement over the next 2 years simply more sequels, prequels, etc.

And than I read news like the Chushingura(47 Ronin) version(USA made) with Keanu Reeves as the lead(role written in for him) I wonder if I should get rid of my TV.

Sounds like everything was pretty much as expected. I have avoided the clunkers this year. Have not seen Inception or Hurt Locker, and Toy Story 3 was just kind of ok for me. And other than that, oh yeah, Kick Ass... the rest of the year will be avoided. I am surprised nobody has a comment about "I love you Philip Morris", which has not come out in the US, but which has come out in Japan. Easily better than 70% of the movies that came out this year, but too edgy for Hollywood apparently. What a joke. Hollywood is not about art or truth anymore. Not by a long shot.

I have seen by far the most BAD movies this year on account of the library of very very poor movies I have collected. But let's limit it to recent movies.

Hands down the worst... Like throw something at the screen worst, were the first two TWILIGHT movies, which I was kind of forced to see. Mediocre pap. Buffy was about 10 times better, and despite being a soap opera, the Buffy series made a lot more sense. I have at least 10 big reasons for thinking that the whole Twilight series is inherently stupid, but number one is that it is an insincere, artless, commercialized grab at the Harry Potter audience. Contrived. Formulaic.

And Harry Potter deserves its own share of the blame, with its weaning of a generation on "deus ex machina as genius" and "McGuffin as creativity" way of storytelling. Rowling is a con artist. Every time some conflict arises, some new technology or history pops up to resolve it. As if all the answers are out there looking for us. Combine that with Cinderella and turn vampyrs into glittering angel/superheroes and you have created Twilight. No brain required.

And I guess what makes it so much worse is that I know people, otherwise sane people, who "like" Twilight.

Look for more formulaic junk written by committee coming our way in the future. The success of Twilight and its ilk, along with these stupid stupid retreads of everything from True Grit to Yogi the Bear to TRON show that things are going to get a lot worse.

Interesting news. For what it is worth, Hollywood is sitting on many many movies that it just will not release because the "timing is not right." There are about 20 pretty big movies just sitting in the can right now, with many many smaller ones. What does it prove? Making movies costs NOTHING compared to the cost of promoting and distributing them. What does that mean? Movies are not being judged on their own merits anymore. It is a business pushed by the producers, not pulled by consumers. Sad times.

"The Fighter" was a terrible movie. Even the fight scenes were very boring.

A lot of the "big" movies - eg Inception, Hurt Locker - started off quite well, but became boring and lame by halfway through. Definitely the worst was Avatar; mind-numbingly stupid from the start. I would definitely second DentShop's picks for good movies, but I don't think any of them have had cinematic release in Japan.

Not sure if "Tron: Legacy" applies for worst movie but it was a serious letdown from a story and acting viewpoint.

Good CG-work and some good action scenes apart from that ... meh.

Toy Story 3 was one of the best movies of the year. But the 3D experience was SUBPAR,boring,nothing exciting about, nothing flying at me or poping out of the screen.

It was a good movie in 2D, they should have kept it in 2D.

The Happening. At the time I wanted to see more Shyamalan movies, but that one was a major flop.

The rest. Meh. Nothing really to speak of, except Inception.

May I recommend "Kick Ass", "Animal Kingdom" and "Four Lions."

Inception bad? Without a doubt, I thought Inception was the best movie of the year, hands down. Mind you I still wouldn't put it in my top ten. This year's been pretty bad for movies.

Avatar was okay, but that's really 2009. The rest. Meh. Nothing really to speak of, except Inception.

Well, usually i don't watch bad movies, and in case i watch them, i tend to forget their titles the next 2-3 days. The movie i would never forget though, since it was the most stupid, ridiculous, and annoying one was the...Crazies! Obviously, Zombie movies have reached their limit...

The Cove Easily one of the most ludicrously biased films in the history of the world. Nothing more than Japan bashing self-righteousness from people too cowardly to focus on the problems in their own countries.

My Darling is a Foreigner The people in this movie couldn't act, the story was ridiculous and there was no plot. I walked out 10 minutes into it.

The Cove This has to be one of the worst films ever made. Inaccurate information and pure lies used as ingredients to concoct an attack on traditional Japanese values. Before seeing this film I didn't care about whaling. Now I am fervently pro-whaling. Down with cultural imperialism!

100% of all 3D movies were crap !!!!! Resident Evil, Tron and Toy Story are perfect examples in why do we need to have 3D ??? I couldn't tell the difference from 3d or 2d from Tron and Toy Story 3

Wow...why do you even bother going to watch them? I thought Toy Story 3D was great! Sure, not a great deal different, but you can definitely see a difference! Sounds to me like you just need to shut up and enjoy the movie instead of whining about it!

He's good at comedy, but serious acting is definitely not his line of work.

I was very very disappointed with Paranormal Activity 2. They should have just stopped at the first one.

The Road was indeed a bit dreary but well acted I suppose. The trailer lead me to believe there would be a lot more action and tension in it but there wasn't a lot of either. I wouldn't call it the worst movie I have ever seen (this year or any other) but it didn't really live up to my expectations. The book is probably better.

Most of the rest of the movies I have seen have been on TV and are a bit oldish now. Nihon Chimbotsu was REALLY bad.

20th Century Boy: Part 3 was pretty good but that is for a different list. Don't recall much of anything else.

Totally agree with Whiskeysour about "Eat, Pray & Love". I could not sympathize with the main character at all. She was just so selfish. I knew the movie was cr@p when she left her husband to fulfill her own selfish needs. One of the longest, most boring movies I've ever watched.

Biohazard 4. Although okay if you are looking for a laugh.

@whiskey: yah 3d is crap, I dont like it and hope it dies a horrible death, but its another way to raise ticket prices for the cinema and it doesnt add anything to the viewingexperience except a major headache. 3D is just being rammed down our throats. :(

Of all the terrible movies that are made I can`t believe someone considers The Road one of the worst. Sure. It does not compare to the book but...... come on. The acting alone sets it apart.

If you see tron please take off your 3D glasses a few times. It's not a extremely big difference.

the 3d objects are not that close to your eyes or can't recognize 3D shapes.

Smoking Aces 2, The Spy Next Door, The Tooth Fairy- any movie with Dwanye Johnson (the rock) is a terrible movie to begin with, Alice in Wonderland 3D So much hype turned out to be crap, Clash Of The Titans 3D another hyped crappy 3D movie, Warlords any movie with flying soldier killing 28 men with one sword swipe is very boring and soooooo croatching tiger hidden dragon retro. Kenny Chesney summer in 3D watching country music concert in 3D is so exciting i would rather watch paint dry.

Ironman 2 - very boring during the F1 fight sequence everybody should have been wiped out including penny and driver Robin Hood,Knight & Day,Takers, any movie with Jennifer Aniston,plastic surgery girls Sex in the city2, Shrek 3D last one please noooooooo more get new ideas please please please please Twilight Eclipse very boring love story about a idiot vampire werewolf & a skanky girl, The Sorcerer's Appretice copy of Harry Potter but more boring and stupid

Resident Evil Afterlife 3D- all the action sequences were copied off the matrix, no ideas guys ???? Bad storyline from begining to end Plus at the end a stupid woman was talking and it sounded Script) to childish and 80's cartoon style (G.I. Joe) at the end of the movie it shows a part 2 with more stupid fight sequences with thousands upon thousands of troops. I thought the world was infected where did all these troops come from. It looks like something from a GI Joe cartoon with cobra commander yelling Cobbbbraaaaa in the background.

The 5 worst movies from 2010 are:

1)Eat,Pray,&Love the character julia roberts plays is totally selfish and insular. first she has a nice husband with a nice job and nice life. Her husband wants to have a child with her. Her friend tells her, Babies are like tattoos on your face ? Then she leaves the husband gets a divorce goes to Bali. Bali guy gives her focked up advice, she believes it and goes around italy, india, and bali. her brains doesn't work and she falls in love again with a guy from brazil who has the exact same personality of the american ex husband. She seperates from the brailian guy because she doesn't want to be someone's lover again. or have a relationship with a man. Whatever that means ??? Than finally the bali guru guy tells her you should marry and settledown ? What the fock ? Probablity of 100% marries the braziliaan guy with the same personality of the ex husband So, she got on a boat with the brazilian guy with the exact personality of her ex husband. Wat the fock ?

2)Tron 2 The movie was tooooooo short and didn't have enough fight sequences with the Tron tank, & etc. I would have liked more expolring through the tron universe. Very boring !!!!!!! Disney made another crappy 3D movie.

3)Avatar the re-release for only 2 days the movie was released and at the same price with 5 minutes extra footage of green & purple people jumping around.

4)Harry Potter's 3 hour boring movie(1hour of the movie was a snooze fest) very boriing in the middle of the movie and the blue guy died copying off of the lord of the rings is not going to save you harry potter.

5) Burlesque very boring !!!! Small town girl becomes famous ( cher's song is toooooooooo long and boring ) in a special strip bar
