Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns, The original Star Wars trilogy, Carry On movies (esp. Carry on up the Khyber), Back to the Future trilogy, Chinese vampire movies, some Star Trek, most Studio Ghibli, Terminator and Monty Python movies, Local Hero, National Lampoon's Animal House, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Blazing Saddles, Excalibur, and for a Christmas movie, The Family Man.
Most people have a specific movie or television program that they fondly recall from their youth as having left a particularly lasting impression. For a generation of television viewers in the late-1960s through the early-1980s, that program may very well be the original teledrama “J.T.,” first aired as the debut installment of the CBS Children's Hour in 1969 and rerun numerous times on the network for well over a decade.
Thanks to the above posters for reminding me of films I want to see again. The ones that triggered most memories: Big Trouble in Little China; Pirates of the Caribbean; Mona Lisa; Local Hero; Blazing Saddles.
Too many to mention, actually. From old Cary Grant movies to old Johnny Depp movies, from Monty Python to old Japanese jewels like "The Man who stole the Sun", it's hard to take a pick.
The Godfather all three, Mississippi Burning, The Wicker Man, The Hunger Games, Alien 1979. The Medusa Touch, The Long Good Friday, Village of the Damned B/W...Wolf Rilla, Children of the Damned B/W sequel. The Thing (1982) The French Connection, The Exorcist extended edition, The life of Brian..........
Telefon, Silence of the lambs, Basic instinct, American beauty, Mona Lisa, Beat Street, Abba - the movie, Bond 007 series, Olsenbanden series (Denmark), comedies starring Louis de Funes (France) , and a lot more.

You're sparking memories of the Takakura Ken yakuza movies. Thanks. (The Beat T ones were good too.)
