There are foods and drinks out there that naturally suppress the appetite, here's a few: iced coffee, grapefruit, mint chewing gum, oily fish, eggs and cheese (Generally diary products, oily foods and caffeinated drinks). Eat/ drink these before going out so you'll be partially full and won't eat as much. However, there's a point where one's discipline gives way to good food and company, it's inevitable.

Who wants to avoid either of those?

Just keep your hands to yourself and don't vomit noodles all over the place.

This! Does everyone planning to puke on the sidewalk on the way home choose to eat yakisoba first? Is it like a rule?

I don't. I plan on stuffing my face and getting absolutely wankered out of my mind.

Stay home with family, avoid crowds and avoid drunks?

There's no pressure to overindulge, is there? Sure, in the far-flung days of youth, peer pressure and the anticipation of a mad old session were de riguer. But a few scoops at the local, or even a lazy night in can suffice in these latter days of winter decay.

Possibly.

Eat too much and drink too much at Christmas.

It’s fun.

A good friend reminds herself of the pair of shoes ruined stepping into ponds of eki-spaghetti.

Why do that? Instead, enjoy it all, and if you feel guilty, exercise and diet before and after the fact. Don't ruin your holidays. And if you plan on being out, book yourself a capsule hotel or net cafe room if you have the habit of losing your last train

Stuffing your face is one thing - a full belly makes you feel satisfied as long as it's good food and not a bunch of grease. But getting wankered out of your mind has consequences - it tends to make the room spin, and make you feel nauseous and throw up and then a bad headache comes, lol. Enjoy a few drinks but don't overdo it.

Oh yeah and drink plenty of water to go with that alcohol.
