Brilliant satire!. Anyone who wants to understand politics should see these. Whether they are British or not. The political scam works the same in Japan and the U.S.A.
Get Smart, The Three Stooges, Perry Mason, Adventures of Superman, Batman, The Munsters, I Dream of Jeannie, Star Trek (original series), Twilight Zone, The Saint, The Professionals, Frasier ...and that's just for starters.
Double Deckers, Doctor Who, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Star Trek (TOS), Planet of the Apes, The Tomorrow People, Blake's Seven, Valley of the Dinosaurs... the more I type the more I remember, so better stop, lol
What's happening, Three's Company, Happy Days, All in the Family, Chico and the Man, Cops, Knight RIder, Cheers, Black Sheep Squadron, The Love Boat, The Jeffersons, MASH, Little House on the Prairie, Charles in Charge, Friends, Seinfeld (Yada, yada, yada), and the list goes on. The 70's and 80's were great for TV.
The Wonder Years comes to mind right away. Easily most memorable show from my childhood. Recently that would definitely be The Wire and Band of Brothers (if that counts here).
All J cartoons and mini series of the 80s ( with monsters who say "arghhhh" , sankukai, captain harlock/ albator, and yes goldorak), also benny hill, columbo, magnum for good measure.
Basically anything with either a fast car, a bad guy or a monster in it. Easy ;)
As a little kid, Sunday Night at the London Palladium. The show itself wasn't all that great I suppose, but it was Sunday night and if we'd had our baths we were allowed to sit up past our bedtimes to watch it in our pyjamas, eating Mum's home-baked bread rolls with real butter (it was margarine the rest of the week) and drinking cocoa. Nice cuddly memories. I especially enjoyed the puppets - Topo Gigio, Daisy May, and the talking dog.
Other than that, in no particular order, Monty Python, The Man from UNCLE, Top of the Pops, Ready, Steady, Go!, Steptoe & Son, Dr. Who, The Monkees, Star Trek, The Caesars and Up Pompei.
The Benny Hill Show, The Twilight Zone (newer and old), Dukes of Hazard, Seinfeld, Three's Company, Saturdy Night Live (80's), G-Force (Battle of the Planets), Cheers, and many, many more,
So far two keep cropping up - Fawlty Towers and Monty Python. It's very interesting that Fawlty Towers had such incredible success with only TWELVE (12) episodes.

I remember The Twilight Zone would always scare me as a kid, especially the opening and closing theme and credits.
