What are your three favorite animated films of all time?

Forgot one: Paprika by Satoshi Kon.

Honorable mention: His "Millennium Actress."

It seems that anybody who listed any Disney or Pixar movies got thumbs down. What is up with that? I find it interesting that some people feel that only Japanese animation is worthy. Can't understand that. The movies I listed I enjoyed the dialogue as much as anything else. There were so many hidden jokes that kids would never get, hence the appeal to many adults.

The Wallace and Gromit series. Team America World Police (if that counts as animated). Heavy Metal.

Hotaru no haka is by Takahata and no Miyazaki.

I actually prefer Takahata over Miyazaki most times

My ultimate No1 is Tonari no Totoro. I've watched it maybe hundred times. 2 and 3 are also Miyazaki movies- Spirited Away ( Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi) and The Grave of The Fireflies ( Hotaru no Haka).

Hmmm. The order of the numbers got reversed somehow when I posted. Odd.

The Land Before Time, Balto, The Lion King

French "Le roi et l'oiseau", Japanese "Perfect Blue" and British "The Plague Dogs". A little bit more original than anything by Disney, I suppose. But then again, I also enjoyed a few of their films, yet mostly the old ones.

Coraline is an amazing film.

Finding Nemo, 101 Dalmations, The Lion King.

I love animated movies and especially admire Disney. My favorite Disney animated movies is Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King and Frozen. However Japanese animation are gems of Japanese art and story telling. Anime encompasses such various story genres that there is something for everyone to enjoy. The top 3 animated films from Japan would be Ghost in the Shell; Innocence, Ghost in the Shell, and Millennium Actress. Japanese animation has been popular for a long time and I believe appeals to adults and children. The stories and the artistic style are quite distinct form animation in the United States. For one thing, not all anime films are made for young audiences. Everything from high-tech action, romance, and fairy tale fantasy can be found illustrated in beautiful art.

And for it's scope, drama and fun the "Toy story series"
