I expect him to come through on all of his election promises but I won't hold my breath.

Ending the ridiculous US led anti Russian policy and getting the hell out of middle east

5 ( +7 / -2 )

A vote of no confidence within three years of the start of his presidency and a whole lot of good comedic materials for late-night comedians.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Cut the population of the US by half? I hear half the population have already begun researching immigration to Canada. ;)

1 ( +2 / -1 )

For starters, I expect him to put a bit more effort into keeping his hands to himself.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

I expect to be frequently worried

3 ( +5 / -2 )

to build a wall, ban muslims, talk down to ethnic minorities whenever possible, to sexually harass, to not release his tax returns., to make fun of disabled people, to give Ukraine and the Baltic states to Vladimir Putin...and to be impeached before he can run for a second term....

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Shut his damn mouth, don't insult everyone, and try to not wreck the country.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Nothing good.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Multiple wars, nuclear holocaust.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

That he isn't an accident waiting to happen!

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Chaos...

1 ( +2 / -1 )

I expect him to do none of the things he promised, but he will keep saying how great he is. He will find ways to funnel money to his companies, enriching himself. In the end he will accomplish nothing, and be re-elected in 4 years!

After driving down I-75 through Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee on Sunday and Monday of this week, and hearing the extreme hatred of Hillary Clinton spewed by supposed "Christians" in the guise of "evangelicals" on the radio in these places, I have the following expectation:

Donald Trump will be the instrument of G-d's wrath on the United States. (Just as these same evangelicals prayed for Bush in 2000 and got 9/11, wars, and a near collapse of the economy as their blessing.)

Some people just won't learn.

Better not to hope for too much. Trump is a big-state guy too. But I at least can breath easier now that the likelihood of WW3 with Russia is greatly reduced. The new McCarthyism of Clinton et. al. was absolutely shocking and unexpected. Never expected that one.

We will see a new Monroe doctrine to be initiated sooner. The US is going to speed up their withdrawal strategy from various overseas bases starting from Europe and middle east and ending in Asia. Trump will demand the sovereign nations that host US bases within their country to pay for the "relocation" like they are currently doing towards Japan as they move their bases to Guam.

Trump would probably maintain the mutual defense treaties as leverage for the money but there is no assurance he will honor those treaties if thing goes south. In fact I believe congress will stop any involvement and Trump will just shrug his head and tell the respected head of states that his hands are tied and without lifting a pinky will wash his hands of involvement.

Basically it is going to become more or less the same situation the night before WW1.

My expectations for Trump are very low.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

I lost faith in Trump when he made fun of that handicapped person. Disgraceful.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Lies, hate, fear mongering, nonsensical outbursts, insults, environmental destruction on a huge scale, discrimination, deportations, the conjuring of facts that suit his purposes, distraction, an economic depression, probably nuclear war.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Ditto wot nandakanda said, expectations are very low.

If Trump doesn't nuke the Middle East, start WW3 and/or crash the world economy in the next four years, I will consider his presidency to have been a raging success.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Something yuge. It'll be amazing. Just amazing. Trust me.

He is not a politician, he is a shrewd business person who seeks maximum profit with the least cost. Basically he will become a protectionism and Isolationist and will cut back on military spending especially in personnel cost. Obamacare is probably the first thing on his list to chuck it under the bus.Next is mass transit. You can also forget about medicare and education since those should be taken care by individual citizens and not become a burden of the State. This will be interesting time for all US citizens with big corporations laughing to the bank AGAIN.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

I expect him to at least double his wealth

1 ( +2 / -1 )

@Cleo,

You sound uninformed. It would have been your choice, Clinton, that would have had a higher chance of doing that.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

I expect and hope for round the clock supervision of him. Stupid and outrageous, half-baked outbursts may impress his voters but they are not advisable as US President.

I sincerely hope the people around him are vigilant and strong but whether anyone can fully contain him is questionable.

Completely banning him from Twitter would be a step in the right direction.

I expect and hope for round the clock supervision of him

by the FBI?

pointofview - What on earth makes you think that Clinton would have been 'my choice'? I've stated clearly on JT more than once that I'm no fan of Clinton either. I've shaken my head in disbelief to think that these two were the best America could come up with out of a population of over 300 million, any of whom, we are often told, can make it to the presidency.

If these represent your best.....Gawd help America.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Too many bad things will happen...

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Hopefully to give Washington elites and the libs the stress of their lives as well as keeping his promises

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

@Skroknog

It's going be become a ghost country with only the Trump family living there as those that won't go to Canadia will be deported...

Reduce taxes for big companies.

That was joke. He know by experience that big corps don't pay taxes.

I expect and hope for round the clock supervision of him.

If I were the CIA-FBI-Xfiles, I'd lock him in a secret place where he could get mental treatment during 4 years. And I'd put in the White House a robot whose bionics hands have not been programmed to grab...

1 ( +1 / -0 )

NOTHING.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I expect a lot of idiots walking around like they believe they are geniuses and waiting for their trickle down that will never come. I expect the rich to get richer, and the poor, poorer.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"A vote of no confidence within three years of the start of his presidency"

Heh, at least he won't be under FBI criminal investigation or be indicted.

"I expect him to at least double his wealth"

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha What's the president's salary these days? Checking... ( Wikipedia ) - Since 2001, the president has earned a $400,000 annual salary, along with a $50,000 annual expense account, a $100,000 nontaxable travel account, and $19,000 for entertainment

Ha ha ha ha haha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Since 2001, the president has earned a $400,000 annual salary

Hahaha. You think the mega rich got that way from a honest salary? He has corporations. Corporations buy the government. The government in turn make laws the help the rich get richer. Compare public records of the all the Senators and note the difference towards a true, honest civil servant such as Bernie Sanders to the rest of them.

Now Trump might not be able to get bribes as the President, but his business will benefit from him letting corporate interests rule, while promising the regular people it will trickle down to them. The lie that has destroyed our middle class.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

He's pretty much put the bar for expectations in the basement. He can't even assemble a competent team to handle the transition from the current government, and is unable to fill positions in the govt w/qualified staff - his short list are all passengers on the short bus. Expectations? Expect chaos to reign for 4 years, or until he's charged with sexual assault or tax fraud and impeached.
