he used to make good movies, but now I'm not so sure. Before, I would go to any movie made by him on name alone, but not anymore. got a problem with THAT mod?

well we will have to wait and see what camerons latest effort is like but he is more a big budget sci fi kind of guy so i find their movie hard to compare. But Eastwood is one the greatest directors of all time in my opinion, total legend.

He's not as good as James Cameron or Clint Eastwood or the late John Hughes.

not as good as Scorcese, but better than me...so somewhere in the middle

I enjoyed his cameo in Desperado. I enjoyed Pulp Fiction (all of it).

But since then NOTHING.

Maybe Inglorious Basterds won't be as weak.

I thought many people don't like Hollywood "A" movies? So what's wrong with "B" ones?

I do enjoy his dialogue sequences.

QT has made some good and some bad movies, much the same as any film maker. But he does borrow quite heavily from his influences. I personally would like to see something more original from him. Something of an idea were he has to think outside the box. As I said, he has made some good movies and some bad, but he has yet to make his masterpiece and I have not seen a movie of his that I can deem a masterpiece...

"Jackie Brown" was cool and likable, thanks to Samuel L. Jackson mainly. He also saves "Pulp Fiction" from being a self-indulgent mess. But Tarentino lost me with the "Kill Bill" flicks. Maybe it's not so much that Tarentino films are so good; most Sam Jackson films tend to be good ones.

Pulp fiction was one of the greatest movies ever. Loved it all the way. Reservoir Dogs was great too. Not that I like blood and gore, but the characters and dialogs were good. Jackie Brown was not bad either. Kill Bill is the hardest to warm up to, but you gotta love the humor. I think he is very ordinarily extraordinary director. Just the effort of making something different deserves respect, and he got mine.

Most of his stuff's pretty good and I find the films watchable more than once. That makes him better than most in my book..

He is one of the great and original filmmakers working today. Not every film has been great, but Pulp Fiction was fresh and fun to watch 15 years ago, and still is. The latest one, Inglorious Basterds, is also very entertaining and has one of the best endings in any movie. The car chase in "Death Proof" is second to none. As far as making "B Movies" as some posters have said, they miss that he is trying to make movies that pay homage to that "genre" - they are intentionally over the top but in an entertaining way.

every director makes a crap movie at some point look at martin scorsese and his career. QT movies are in their own unique genre and i always find them entertaining and enjoy trying to pick out the references and influences. The soundtracks are normally pretty cool as well. JB sucked as did killbill 2. But the rest of his movies are all pretty top notch.

Overrated. Makes B movies that masquerade as top flight ones. still trades on his Reservoir Dogs reputation.

I like movies. I see lots of movies. If it's made by QT, I'll see it. Some I'll even watch several times over the course of several years (pulp fiction, kill Bill I).

As far as two hours of entertainment, QT's movies are worth the price of a movie ticket.

That being said, Jackie Brown sucked. If I was channels surfing and came across that, I wouldn't stop for very long.

Overrated. Way overrated.

"Jackie Brown" was probably the only film I have seen of his that was tolerable. "Pulp Fiction" while having a lot of good throw away one liners etc was pointless and plotless. "Reservoir Dogs" was just gratuitously violent. Didn't bother with any of the "Kill Bill" films.

That being said, I am vaguely interested in seeing "Inglourious Basterds" but I doubt I will. They are offering my money back if I am not satified with it in the theatre which is probably what is prompting this question of the day.

He knows his way around making stylish movies. He draws a lot of inspiration from especially 60ties and 70ties b-movies, so its a joy finding out how he makes new things out of old movies. He has never made a bad movie. Many critics may he has never made anything original. Well, why should he?...And in many ways, the movies he makes are pretty original reinterpretations to the old movies he love. "Death proof" has a lot of the sensibility you find in exactly those same movies that were made in the "rape and revenge" genre back in the 70ties. Sure lots of Tarantino is food for film geeks like me, but in general he is highly entertaining. And the fact that he is full of himself doesnt make any difference. Its the movies that is the end product, not the interview he gives. Anyway, most people in the movie business mostly dont have anything interesting to say anyway.

Isn´t the whole point of a Tarantino film about not thinking?

I liked "Reservoir Dogs," "Pulp Fiction" and "Inglourious Basterds," but nothing else. I think QT is too self-indulgent and sometimes full of himself, especially in interviews. I also wish he'd use less F words in his scripts because after awhile, it grates on my nerves (particularly so in "Reservoir Dogs").
