Just as bad as others. More entertaining than the current one.

Of course not. He's a ¥100 shop Ishihara.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

He would make about as good a PM as Trump would a POTUS !

Taro Yamamoto YES, Toru Hashimoto NO

Hashimoto is Abe's mini-me.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

No! Absolutely NOT!

As if!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Nope ... no way ... It's as simple as that ...

1 ( +1 / -0 )

No way !! He just keeps on making and then dismantling political parties ! In Osaka, he may have some focus but on the national stage, he just attracts the crazies and the loons....

You're kidding right?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

He's a martinet arsehole.

I think he is the puss oozing up from the wounds within Osaka and Japan.

I hate him personally, politically, and professionally.

He thinks that burning contaminated nuclear waste from Fukushima in Osaka is a good idea so obviously prime ministerial material..........

If I had to somehow frame this positively, I'd say this: He'd be better than Abe.

'Of course not. He's a ¥100 shop Ishihara.'

'A quote from Russell Brand?'

No. What did Russell Brand say about Hashimoto?

The man cannot find a political party to stick how could be PM?

He is an ultranationalist. An Abe on steroids. You'll see Japanese boys dying in all sorts of US caused wars so he can show off the great Japanese might. Of course, these boys will have been drafted.

Osaka's Ishihara

Recently he seems to want people to call him 'Splinter', after all his party splitting shenanigans.

At least he is a leader rather than a faceless party faction man though.

Boss of Osaka is one thing but nominal boss of all of us - no thanks!

To paraphrase the Duke: I don't think of him at all when he keeps his mouth shut.

Seems like a logical progression for him. Problem is he won't get the support of the grey old men.

No.

Rare consensus on JT! Hashism has no redeeming qualities.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I'd choose Donald Trump over him. No, really.

About as good as the current clown which means NOOOOO!!!!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Overall, probably not. But I think he would shake things up, and do some things differently, so he could be a catalyst for change, but any good change would probably have to come after him.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Yes! Japan would be even more laughingstock-er.
