Cricket is the most boring sport in the world.

I saw some of the Winter Olympics. Cricket isn’t even in the top 5.

I used to think that love was the sweetest thing.

I later discovered that it hurts, scars, wounds and marks any heart not tough or strong enough to take a lot of pain.

Truth and fairness will always come out on top.

That democrats valued freedom.

governments wanting what's best for its people, they really care about what would benefit them first and us second.

businesses care about the satisfaction of its customers, they want us to be satisfied for now and crave their products again in the future.

politicians care about making a good impact in the country, they're just in it for the power, fame and fortune.

companies genuinely caring about their employees, we're just a replaceable cog in the machine and are treated as such.

I know that there will always be exceptions to the rule, but after growing up as an adult, I've learned to step down from my ivory tower.

Seems this question is for 20 year olds? - Upon exiting university, the realities of life set in and dissipate all illusion.

Most left-leaning people are well-meaning but misguided to various extents on various issues.

That percentage has shrunk significantly over the last 6 years. There are still plenty of sensible ones around, of course, but too many of those have been cowed or silenced by the crazies.

There's a lot, mostly comes from deprogramming and unlearning propaganda we are indoctrinated with from a young age. Just a few highlights.

-That any company exists that cares about people at all. Doesn't matter how progressive facing they are, unless it is a SOE every last company is evil.

-That liberals were politically left-leaning at all. I spent far too long as a socdem before I came to grips with the fact that they weren't remotely.

-Literally any news story about North Korea.

-The whole taste bud receptors being localized to specific regions was something I was taught in kindergarten and just kind of accepted until I realize it made no sense whatsoever. This was just one for a bit more light-heartedness.

Lots of things, some which will get lots of thumbs-down from the JT crowd. But one thing I thought was true was that Republican and Democratic politicians were different. Now I realize they're different sides of the same coin. And they both LOVE war. But anyway, I'm not American, so it's no skin off my back. I don't have to rely on them for health care.

That the FDA's primary concern was ensuring the safety and effectiveness of medicines and medical devices.

They actually seem to be primarily concerned with promoting those industries, at the detriment of our health...

Complex solutions is used for complex problems. People are reasonable and not mega stubborn by default. Persuasion comes after winning the first argument.

I used to think that most people were smart and their words had deep meanings and nuances. Then I found out that most people are just stupid.

That anything should be taken seriously.

Peter Neil...

Then I found out that most people are just stupid.

Probably the best answer. It explains many of the other observations.

That blood is thicker than water. Absolutely not true and you should not hesitate to get the heck out of dodge or to cut ties from a toxic and unhealthy environment.

Democracy is a good thing

You can reason with at least some Leftists

There are at least a few people in the US government who have ready history

Democracy is a good thing

Interesting to hear a Trump lover come out and openly admit what many suspected. Just out of curiosity, what changed your mind about the merits of democracy?

Progress, increasing knowledge, human intellectual capabilities, replacing violence and war by talking and negotiating, and all such… The development is now quickly marching into the other, negative direction, almost everywhere, and even gaining more and more speed.
