What is your favorite movie with a twist ending?

The Shining and A Perfect Getaway.

Brainiac: "The Crying Game" is a great choice, but I'm going to keep that as number 2 and stick with Titanic.

Shawshank Redemption Not so much of a surprise ending, just had to see the movie again after seeing the second half - and saw it all in a completely different light.

Departed, The Mist, Gran Torino, Casino, God Father (Marlon Brando character died of natural cause), Avatar (Sully died & reincarnated),Matrix 3 the ending, Star Wars (Luke's father & Darth Vader passing away), Batman Dark Knight, and many more.

Don't forget about The Maltese Falcon or Casablanca. For more modern flicks, The Usual Suspects. I actually shuddered.

For movies it is difficult, but for literature it is pretty much everything I read on JT. :P

Memento (director Christopher Nolan, who also did The Prestige which Yongyang mentioned). Guy Pierce in the lead role ... a great film!

Not really a twist, but I enjoy watching Trans-Sexual Paedophile Witches getting pistol whipped and baked in an oven.

Call it a fetish.

Zatoichi was a good one. I also didn't see the ending of the Fight Club coming at all- quite rare for a Hollywood movie.

For me:

Totoro. That sandal scene gets me every time. Mei lives!

Yay トトロ！ Beautiful movie and I hope my daughter remebers the times we saw it together when I pass on.

Pulp Fiction, with John Travolta and Uma Thurman dancing the Twist.

Or maybe it was "The Love Guru": The unexpected twist is that it was supposed to be a comedy.

How about the end to Beat Takeshi's "Zatoichi"? The head of the criminal gang was not who you expected, AND Riverdance turned out to be Japanese!
