I know you're a thoroughly decent bloke and what you said is entirely innocent, but Messi's actually physically handicapped due to a lack of growth hormone when he was a kid.
Argentina by one or by penalty kicks. Even without Messi, the Argentines are a very tough team to beat. What I love about the Argentines is their offense, but, at the same time, what I love about the Germans is their defense. A great match-up indeed!
If it goes to pens, my money will be on Germany. They find the idea of missing penalties ridiculous and they have the best keeper in the world at the moment.
Germany to win. But in my experience, the actual world cup final tends to be an anti-climax.
I will switch off the Japanese commentary. 'MESSI! MESSI! MESSI!'. Yes, I know. He's the little fella wearing number 10.
I made that mistake in '98 and switched to the Spanish commentary for England vs Argentina (no English commentary available. Had to sit through the endless "GOOOOOOAAAAAALLLL" commentary when Argentina scored. I switched back to Japanese.
I guess Germany. It's a good team but not so good (Brazil is mediocre, this is why you got that incredible result), anyway also Argentina isn't so amazing, and they are too much dependent on Messi. Overall Germany is more complete.
hope germany wins but if argentina does, it wouldn't be a surprise of course
haven't checked which channel has the game but anything would be better than today's 3rd place game, that guy wouldn't just shut up for a second, and every time that he mentioned kuyt he had to call him 'veteran' sigh
Germany's defeat in 2001 to England saw them revolutionize their entire football apparatus and has seen them reach the semi-finals or final in the last four World Cups. Germany to win.

Argentina wins on stoppage time goal 2-1. Messi becomes a saint like Maradona.

Germany. At least that's what they'll say at our local German association's clubhouse and dance emporium. And for this I had to buy a flag?

Athletes
The team who is rewarded with penalty from Referee.

It will be a big snoozefest.

Germany seems hotter, but Argentina has semi-home court advantage. But In the end I will have to go with Athletes' prediction above.
What's this about Messi? He's out? Sorry, haven't been watching this year...

Which cookie do I get for correctly predicting the regulation score?
