What issues do you think new Prime Minister Fumio Kishida should put priority on?

Outdated court system - modernise. It's not the 13th century, it's not the 15th century, it's not even the 18th century. It's the 21st century.

Modernise the telecommunications sector in Japan - let's ditch faxes, hanko stamps, pagers and similar nonsense that does not save time nowadays, but rather prolongs and adds work. It's not the 1980s. It's 2021. It's not a problem. Or let's keep the faxes, but tax them, etc.

Let's finally start doing rational and calm international politics and not with heated heads and exaggerated nationalism. It's not just us. There are other countries we (have to) work with.

Less paperwork and generally less obsession with paperwork in government. Keep the paperwork for those who don't have the ability to do things online.

Excellent idea.

Get rid of these ridiculous quasi-restrictions on movement and business, letting us get back to normal again.

Reform the death duty system so that surviving relatives can unlock land that would otherwise be subject to punitive taxes if sold.

NK abductees? Just until after the election.

The masses need more income to bring the economy up and also themselves, for example lifelong learning of new future technologies etc. Digitalization is not the main priority. In fact it’s all very nice in concept phase, but still not 100% safe and working. You can’t even rely on your digital data, money or 24h internet connection. It has worked for centuries with paper and hanko and of course still will. Or to give a picture, a million in paper banknotes is surely still much better than an empty but completely digital and cashless account, right? lol Yes, support of families is as important as other priorities, but it’s not done with supporting from second child and above while young people with minimum wages can’t even marry and afford a first child. It should begin of course already there. It’s quite easy how a priority chain has to be, education, better products and services, those sold on global markets, fair distribution of the country’s income and personal spending or consumption, as well as reinvestments , family support, again education, after it all has been sold. That’s the cycle how it works, not spending first or all cashing in by a few rich hands. That leads to nothing.

SOCIETY. But knowing how politics works here, especially with the LDP, it'll be anything but, while claiming what he does is for society -- like focussing on campaigns that will spread the next wave of Covid, which will lead to the next SOE. Weapons contracts under the guise of "defense". The abduction issue to deflect from current failures. Casinos. Etc.
