I bother me the most. Dang, but there are so many things I can't do with my smartphone. Now, I'm part of the older generation (How old? Well, I'm part of the last generation). so I'm out of the loop for so many of things. Things happen that I've no idea why and things people show me I can't make work when I want to. At least I don't bother people with impolite smartphone discourtesies. (They should give tests for smartphone use. I'd fail and then I wouldn't feel so darn incompetent.)

Speed, might I also add checking Insta or other crap while watching a movie together.

Walking along the street and almost walking into me because they're staring down at their phones with zombielike, dead eyes.

Using it at the breakfast / lunch / dinner table. It's right up there with wearing a hat to the table.

Immediately looking something up rather than thinking about it and remembering.

Speed

could not agree with you more.

Some people like shouting into their cell phones.

The massive amounts of personal space that they grant themselves while walking with their heads pointed down toward their phones. They know that they're not paying attention to anything around them, but they somehow have the sense to leave just enough space between their bobbing-and-weaving selves and the walls or fences so that no one can overtake them and they become even more of a public burden than someone wandering around in public paying no attention to their surroundings would be to begin with. It's uncanny.

Using them while driving.

Walking blindly on roads and sidewalks, multitasking while driving and checking who liked your posts on IG or ordering a pizza on the Domino's app (and similar $hi¥).

Oh, and doing their Amazon shopping while watching a movie at the theaters. Like why can't they do it before or after?

Using them to record football matches, gigs, clubs, fireworks displays etc. instead of watching and enjoying the event.

Using them while driving

I have to drive these days and it was a shock to see so many using smartphones.

Often a gormless twat in an SUV.

Especially gigs. I turned down a chance to see my favourite band (Suede) last autumn because so many have smartphones high in the air, watching through the screen. As if the cost of the tickets weren’t high enough, FFS.

Shouting into them. Why do people do that? They have volume controls and amplifiers.

Parents staring at them, ignoring their small child who is toddling across a road, eating things they have picked up off the pavement or wandering off in the other direction.

Parents lazily failing to educate/monitor their kids' use of them and then blaming the tech, tech companies and everybody else when their kids do something daft as a result of unwise online behaviour. You are not their BFF, you are their parent - act like it.

Do not use a smartphone whilst driving or cycling. It is as dumb as drink/drug driving.

Using them while driving.

Same opinion, this is possible where something like bluetooth is something unknown yet for masses of drivers.

Watching Bollywood movies on them at full phone-speaker volume, as some are wont to do.

Walking along the street and almost walking into me because they're staring down at their phones with zombielike, dead eyes.

Same here, also don't forget staring at their smartphone while cycling and driving.

Parents and guardians who are too busy tinkering away on their phones instead of keeping an eye on their kids and making sure they're not being a nuisance in public or getting into mischief really frustrates me, especially when you're in close quarters with them. I've seen such irresponsible behaviour on planes for example, where the parent had their nose in their phones while the child was kicking off in their seat, disturbing everyone onboard. Cabin crew should not have to waste their time coming over to tell you how to parent your child.
