What technical achievements, scientific or medical developments did you think we would see by the year 2020, but which have not happened?

Hang over free alcohol.

Easy enough to make hangover free alcohol. Just add a large dose of ipecac or some other strong emetic to beer, wine, whisky, whatever. Five minutes after drinking it, you bring up your breakfast, call for Herb, Ralph, have a chat on the big white porcelain phone, chunder, feed the fishes, have a technicolour yawn, etc.

Regenerative medicine should be commonplace by now but Japanese hospitals have not taken up the challenge, unfortunately...
