a diagnosis of pulmonary fibrosis that's going to kill me in a year or two.

Sorry to hear that. I hope you can get the best treatment available. I had a close call a few years ago in the ocean and would not have had even had a second to say goodbye to my family or arrange my finances.

The best thing that happened was making trips to Florida to see my father with all of my kids. The worst was a health issue that appears to be permanent. Health is the greatest wealth.

Worst: personal income at the eikawa I have been working at for 15 years(Gaba) fell by about 25% due to a loss of clientele due to some very poor management decisions ever since the company was taken over by Nova Holdings - to make matters even worse they’re shifting their tax burden onto their already underpaid instructors by requiring them to sign up for the new Qualified Invoice System.

Best: took on some additional work that I like. Also, visited Hiroshima and rode the Shimanami Kaido this year.

The best - living the rest of the year after hearing the worst - a diagnosis of pulmonary fibrosis that's going to kill me in a year or two.

Sorry to hear it. God be with you.

Worst: Some neurological nonsense going on in my left hand...a ;pretty alarming thing as I'm a pro musician. Not really compromising my playing yet, but it's scary.

Best: Moved to Japan!

Best thing was finding out I'm going to be a grandpa next year.

> Worst thing was my bouts with gout.

You get daily medicine for your gout which reduces the uric acid. I take it.

The best - living the rest of the year after hearing the worst - a diagnosis of pulmonary fibrosis that's going to kill me in a year or two. But, life's a bitch and you have to suck it up and take it, at least that's always been my philosophy. So I'm only hoping I can return to Japan one last time to say goodbye to the good friends I've made there since 2011.

The worst thing is the worst thing I can imagine: glaucoma surgery. I don't want to have to jump off a building if I go blind. Left eye surgery in January, too.

The best thing was reconnecting with an old high school friend. It was just like making a new friend and we stay in touch with emails and phone calls.

The best thing was winning $87 in the $90 million lotto jackpot draw.

Seeing my youngest son get settled, with a pretty good job, in a large international city. I think we want to feel the relief (and maybe pride too) that our kids are doing alright.
