When you look at Facebook, do you sometimes get the feeling that everyone else has a more interesting life than you?

Not anymore. Ask yourself a question, do you also see them when they're depressed, crying and sad ? Facebook is nothing more than a digital version of family/friends photo albums, afaik, there's almost no sad family photo albums.

LOL. Not at all. If anything, they seem to have more boring lives.

I am in Japan, many of them are still living in the place they grew up. I do find it interesting though when they are still playing the field while I am married for years with 3 kids.

Not at all.

Although I know 'I'm doing it wrong.' I only connect with people I know and a few that I admire, so we know what each other is up to anyway. Lol.

I feel like that when I look at real life....

I feel that way sometimes, but then I remind myself I know the truth of many of those lives. And, unless someone is marketing something or using Facebook to promote a business, there is a sadness to those people who post frequently about their "glamorous" life and travels.

Actually, when I see my "friends" posting photos of their dinner, I tend to think they are leading very mundane lives, if they believe that is of interest to others. I think people who lead truly exceptional and interesting lives (however you wish to define it) are too busy to post on Facebook, Twiiter, Instagram, etc, (and Japan Today discussion board, too) anyway.

Usually I realise I do have a life, while many others seem to have less of a life.

FB groups can be different, depending on the group. I am in 2 or 3 professional groups (not really active) and 2 hobby-type groups (art- a bit active). The professional groups offer pressure, the hobby ones show quite a few people doing something with a passion.

No, it's just you.

Do u want to waste your precious time watching the every kind of pictures of your relatives, friends and strangers and clicking the like and love button and commenting the same thing over and over?

OR

Do u want to spend your time doing the real activities like hiking, jogging, cooking, writing, reading, etc for yourself and feel good about it?

i never used facebook but i know a couple of things...

do you sometimes get the feeling that everyone else has a more interesting life than you?

that is an illusion... many people on facebook ( they might not even realize this ) wanna make other people jealous, and they want other people to admire them ( for whatever reason ), i am not a psychologist but i know that can mean a number of things. also, of course they,re never gonna show you their worst, that doesn,t mean it doesn,t exist. nobody is perfect or more interesting than you, or you can look at it the other way, there,s always someone with more... we just need to learn to appreciate what we have.

What rcch said. A lot of people post pictures of themselves doing whatever to give an impression that their lives are fantastic or they have the greener grass, but I’m never envious... more hoping that they really are enjoying life. I don’t want to think of my friends going through difficulties and posting stuff to hide the truth about what they are feeling.

Then there are others who I just want to slap.

Why would anybody get this idea?

My life is my life. Why on Earth would I compare it to anyone else's?

I think the person who thought up this question has a problem.

Weird!
