Mitt Romney is Mister TCB!

It was absolutely inspiring, to watch.

"Romney... was just flat-out making stuff up... wasn't even able to tell the truth"

What did he lie about?

"Romney... was just flat-out making stuff up... wasn't even able to tell the truth" What did he lie about?

No tax cuts for the rich? Wants more bank regulation? Wants more teachers?

Romney also claimed his healthcare plan would cover those with pre-existing conditions... something his own campaign office had to "clarify" (i.e. deny) just hours later.

My favourite was, "You can't have a free market work if you don't have regulation.". It's a complete contradiction of his position and what he intends to do.

Romney just bare-faced lied his way through the entire debate. What's worse is that he lied to the U.S. public. As far as I'm concerned someone who gets elected on a false platform is a traitor, they deceived the public and should be held accountable... preferably at the end of a noose.

I didn't watch it, but I heard the moderator was pretty terrible. I also heard Big Bird got some props. Maybe this will go down in history as the Big Bird Debate.

Nixon: Sweaty guy

Ford: There is no communist problem guy.

Reagan: I'm old and I'll kick your a$$ guy.

Quayle: You're no Jack Kennedy guy.

Bush: Foot in mouth guy.

Obama: Where's my teleprompter guy.

Romney: Big Bird guy.

We're doomed.

Doomed indeed. This is just another entertainment opportunity in the carnival that elections have become. and meanwhile Rome burns.....

Who performed the best of all the numerous participants? Or who performed better of the two participants?

I only saw bits & pieces of the debate, but from what I saw and what I have read I believe Romney got this one. Obama seemed out of it at times and for some reason didn't look at Romney very much, but instead gave most of his attention to the moderator. After going back on the campaign trail Obama claimed Romney was dishing out lies during the debate. Well, if this is so, why didn't Obama speak up then ... that is, when they were face to face.

Romney, . . . but one good debate performance does not make a president. Nor does it make one presidential.

"Romney: Well thats nothing, I will kill Big Bird."

Obama: Well, that's nothing, I will kill jobs.

Jobs, is already dead you insensitive clod. :)

Romney was just flat-out making stuff up. Obama had a simple choice, call him a liar to his face there and then and risk an allmighty row where no-one came out looking any good (I'm sure that's what Romney wanted), or bide him time and pretty much ignore Romney and then get the fact-checkers to politely point out that Romney was "mistaken" on a great many points.

Obama won a moral victory and avoided Romney's trap. Romney just came off as a complete lying troll.

Considering Romney wasn't even able to tell the truth... then again, that precedent was set before his campaign even started.

PS - it should read "Who performed better?" - best implies three or more participants to compare and can't be used for "A or B" situations.

Spin much? You must not have watched the same debate that I, Bill Maher, or most of the liberal MSM watched because none of us came to the same conclusion as you.

Of the two, one looked and sounded presidential. And it wasn't the guy with the title "President" in front of his name.

There were two debaters, Obama and Romney, TWO.

So, surely the question should be:

Who do you think performed better in the first U.S. presidential debate?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Romney, until the fact-checkers do their job.

I was surprised Mitt could even find his way into the building, to be honest.

someone lied to an empty chair.................that's about it.

Mitt " won " , but totally lacked sportmanship, didn't play fair since he sort of jazz up some facts/half truth. round one the Pinochio award goes to mitt
