Give it to Zelensky. There will be no greater irony than handing the “peace” award this month to the guy who was busy last month signing his name on bombs at a weapons factory.

"I'm curious what Americans in the street can say about the Abraham Accord. I guess bonus points if they mention Israel."

It all depends on what you mean by "Americans in the street", though those Americans living in the streets abandoned by their own government led by Joe and Kamala perhaps might not know much about the Accord. However, I don't think the decision for who gets the award depend on those in the streets.

@Taiwan.etc

By arming the religious Pushtans and providing them with 3 billion dollars to overthrow the government. Don’t they teach history in America?

Still doesn't explain how the PDPA was supposed to be pro-western or how the Soviet assassination of the leader of the PDPA was supposed to be helpful. Or is this a continuation of the apology that russians can't possibly be expected to be responsible for their actions? Also quite impressive that the CIA did this in five months without any actual weapons having arrived yet. There is your history.

None.

Nobody cares about peace. It's all about the good business that war brings to the corporations backed by governments.

A trio: Julian Assange. Gazan medical workers and trapped Palestinian press.

Yes, great choice! All three very much deserve recognition for their sacrifices for humanity.

@Mr Kipling

Jimmy (not a shot fired) Carter....

The Jimmy Carter whose actions led directly to the overthrow of the Pro-Western government of Afghanistan, the loss of women’s rights in the country, almost fifty years of war and the rise of the Taliban?

Do tell how the US engineered a communist takeover of Afghanistan and a subsequent Soviet invasion.

If there is no real candidate then it should not be awarded. Not awarding in itself might be a wake-up call to humanity.

I'm a fair ideal world, the award should go to none other than President DJT, for four years of global peace and prosperity. Least we don't forget the Abraham Accord.

Peace should be central to all the big religions so they should always be a default option for the peace prize. Oh to dream! But where are they? Where are the leaders putting themselves about to stop wars or campaign for a just world and end the exploitation and destruction that is storing up violence for the future. Some are even actively promoting violence and narrow-minded nationalism and have done so regularly in the past.

"I'd love to see Biden get it."

I can agree somewhat. Joe spends a lot of time daytime sleeping and talking to imaginary friends lately. As such he is not causing all that much harm and can by extension be considered a man of peace by some parties.

I'm glad you agree that Biden didn't start any wars. Please help spread the message.

Donald Trump

Certainly more deserving than the last time a US president got it.

Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelenskyy

This. Just to infuriate the vatniks and their friends on this site.

Not even just that. He has said removal of terrorists and compensation for the damage they caused is enough. A true man of peace.

Jimmy (not a shot fired) Carter.... now 100 years old.

I thought he already did receive it, albeit after his presidency.

I'd love to see Biden get it. Not so much because he has a particular reason to get it, but just for the epic tantrum it would kick off on Truth Social...and here.

That or Joe Biden, for the same reason.

South Africa's Naledi Pandor would be a good choice for the peace prize.

Definitely Propublica. They are one of the few keeping real journalism alive.

Since they go against the neoliberal consensus they probably will not be honored.

Since big banking finance managed to create a Nobel Prize for the fake science of economics which actually is not part of the Nobel committee .
