This is a good example of why the warnings are helpful. Being prepared is a good thing.
As with every major storm, I hope we won’t hear about any landslides or flash floods.
If you’re in Chiba, heed the warnings and stay safe and comfortable.

This is especially important for typhoons as the intensity of tropical cyclones is linked to increases in sea surface temperature (SST). As the size of a cyclone increases, SST decreases, limiting its intensity. However, under global warming, the SST is higher. As a result, this could make a typhoon last longer.

Don’t take risks if you live in an area affected.

Tokyo dodge a bullet, this storm would of set Tokyo back years,if had a direct hit
Nihon Tora
Was able to drive back from our summer trip on pretty much empty expressways today - not one single traffic jam - usually we'd get delays of at least 1.5 hours - possibly thanks to the typhoon! I'm not sure what all the fuss was about - for the last 48 hours it has been clearly predicted not to make landfall and skirt well to the south.
There was a similar strength typhoon, maybe slightly stronger that made pretty much a direct hit with Tokyo about five years back - there were some wind damaged buildings in Chiba city I think, quite serious but it was hardly a huge disaster to set the city back years.

The storm has pass, but lots of Japanese were engrossed in the bogus mega quake ,instead of this storm

We live on the pacific coast in Chiba overlooking the beach. The sea became a bit rough and had some welcome rain. What a beef up, much like the mega earthquake of last week. It's good for business to maintain the fear.
