Just landed back in Kansai from SE Asia.
The numbers of Chinese are conspicuously absent.Tourist areas are quieter than usual and overall there is much more of a quieter ambience.
Arriving back in Japan (Osaka) there were police stationed by the quarantine desks.
There were also separate lines for Hong Kong and Chinese arrivals, no doubt to be temperature tested.
Millions of Chinese are locked down or restricted from travel-it seems to be seriously different from any outbreak I have seen.

Finally found a fuller list than above, also from J Kyodo.
Sendai, Ibaraki, Niigata, Toyama, Yonago, Okayama, Takamatsu, Matsuyama, Kitakyushu and Nagasaki. (Plus Itomaki, Shizuoka and Kagoshima.)

So, should I cancel my trip to Fukuoka from the states next month? I am planning to spend a month in Kyushu. How fast will the virus spread from Yokohama? Watching ...

So not Nagoya? Good news but too late for me. Canceled my trip back to the States today because I saw flights coming in from Shanghai and Beijing to Nagoya. Was flying out Friday.

Well, it’s not much of a surprise considering the virus. Hopefully, they will be able to get a real handle on this, so that way these flights can resume. Because I can only imagine how much the tourism industry is taking a hit because of this.

I live in Meguro Tokyo in walking proximity to schools and shopping would be reluctant to sit in a plane for many hours breathing recycled air with other passengers. I guess no telling where / how fast the virus will spread. You can't trust Japanese media to report the truth remember what happened during disasters in the past.

Yeah, recycled through a HEPA filter which is probably better than any other crowded/confined public situation, air wise.
