A 13-year-old boy died after he apparently jumped from an apartment building in Kobe on Tuesday morning.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday at a 13-floor apartment building in the city’s Higashi-Nada ward.

The boy’s body was found by his father in the condo’s parking lot. The father told police he had noticed his son was not in the apartment and had gone out to look for him.

The boy was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead about 50 minutes later.

Police said there was a note in the boy’s bedroom, indicating that he was going to commit suicide.

It may help if parents talked to their children more.I am not conjecturing on the reason here for the suicide but just saying that it might help sometime s to prevent such a situation....

It's disgusting that any system could let/cause this to this happen so much. People were not paying attention when they should have been.

Nothing new.

Disillusioned is right. I bet that boy was getting bullied a lot at school and he couldn't take it anymore.

That’s so sad. The poor dad, finding his son that way. It makes my heart hurt.

I know this sounds bit offtopic but yesterday a train jumper in Osaka, today a window jumper. That is just the two of which we heard of in the news in consecutive days

I heard suicides happen a lot after vacation periods.

The first day back at school was Monday and he killed himself in the evening of that day. Do you think there is a connection?

Japan really needs to provide more mental help for people with suicidal thoughts or do something in the bullying culture. 13 years old, there is still so much you can do to change your life. poor boy and father.

What a horrible nightmare for the father. I hope he was not part of the boy's motivation.
