Looks like they are going to want everyone to get 20 shots when they get to the omega variant.

And Eta is a nasty word.

It isn't a nasty word, it's a Greek letter.

If you want to attach arbitrary meaning to letters, then the alpha variant must be dominant, the beta variant isn't quite ready for market, the mu variant doesn't exist and the kappa variant can be cured with a cucumber.

My buddy had covid an after they felt better they just went out, no tests nothing. And wasn't told which variant they had.

Not very scientific is it?

Eta?! I know the variant is named as such from the Greek letter, but as it's also the derogatory term Japanese used (still use?) to use to describe the burakumin underclass, this probably won't go down well here.

Nice one Cleo.

However, strictly speaking, eta is a Romanisation of both a Greek letter and a Japanese word. It may also exist in other languages.

Staying healthy is and has always been the best way to fight off colds, flu or other illnesses.

Yes, and staying alive is and has always been the best way to fight off death. But I don’t know of any one working case. lol

You’ve all made the point, but in Japanese it follows the American pronunciation and sounds like ‘eater’. See and hear イータ in the spoken and written reports here. Or ‘ ‘eater-kabu’ イータ株 for ‘eta variant’.

Forget the xenophobic junk - never forget where the Chinavirus came from, China's gift to the world.

They can dress it up in variants in any alphabet they choose, but that's just to deflect from the single fact that China inflicted this plague on the world's population on order to meet their futile zenith of being No. 1 in the world.

It was never enough that they needed to win, they had to make sure that everyone else 'lost' too.

The best way to win this game is not to play. Be healthy and fit, don’t get tested, and don’t destroy your natural immune response with the faux “vaccines.”

I am not sure how this looks like a "victory". Taking an anti-science anti-vax approach until catch, and possibly die of COVID-19 doesn't look like winning to me. A death bed "wish I'd taken the vaccine" sounds a lot like losing.

Eta is a nasty word. Why is it published?

Because thats it's name. You want a nice word for a horrible virus variant?

Which name is nice and acceptable to you?

No covid comments section is complete without at least one mention of the Olympics!
