Police said Monday that two bodies have been found on the Hotaka mountain range in Nagano Prefecture's Northern Alps.
According to police, the bodies were discovered near a stream at a point 1,800 meters above sea level on May 18 at around 11 a.m. by a member of The Japanese Alpine Club, TV Asahi reported.
Police say the bodies have not yet been identified, but that they are likely to be the remains of two men who were reported missing in the area on Dec 31 last year.

Honestly, I had no Idea that Japan even had Alps, let alone climbers who climbed them. Mountain climbing is a dangerous endeavor, not for amateurs.

Hike smart people. 1,800 meters is not very high. Being a seasoned hiker, I must say that really wish people would take Mother Nature more seriously. Too many deaths up in the mountains this year. Please be careful and enjoy and respect the beauty she has given us.
