Two people died in a fire that destroyed an apartment in a condominium in Ichikawa, Chiba Prefecture, on Thursday.
According to police and firefighters, a resident of another apartment called 119 at around 3:10 a.m. Thursday, reporting that flames were coming from the apartment on the 6th floor of a 7-story building. Fuji TV reported that it took firefighters about one hour to extinguish the blaze.
Two people were found dead, one inside the apartment and the other just outside the entrance. Eleven other residents on the same floor were taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
Police said the two dead people were a married couple who lived in the apartment, and said they are trying to establish how the fire started.

Smoke, etc Detectors need to be present according to the Law, Landowners can be find for absence.
Said the Batteries might be drained.
