2 high school girls found dead under bridge after apparent suicide jump

Nagano prefectural police are investigating the deaths of two high school girls who apparently committed suicide by jumping from a bridge last week.

According to police, the girls attended the same high school. Sankei Shimbun reported that their bodies were found on the morning of Jan 30 beneath a bridge between the cities of Karuizawa and Miyota. Both girls were declared dead at the scene.

Police had been searching for the pair who had not been seen by their families or friends since the day before their bodies were found. Police suspect that the two students jumped off the bridge together.

The Nagano Prefecture Board of Education said that there were no indications of bullying or any other trouble at the school.

no indications of bullying, why am I doubting this. why would 2 high school girls kill themselves? if they were siblings, I would look into family related issues. But if not, the only thing they could possibly share in common is the school.

They got bullied, and the bullies are denying everything.

RIP

So sad. Words can't describe how two young lives are now gone. Assuming this was a joint suicide, I wish they would have reached out for help or one of the two could have lifted them out of their depression.

They are very quick to dismiss bullying. I bet it was bullying.

Such a waste. I feel for the families. It is too hard to comprehend. My cousin also demised in such a way, and after so many years, my aunty still hasn't accepted it. I will light a candle for them.

Was life that bad? Just in case there is anyone who doesn't get it. Yes, it was that bad!!

terrible story and such a waste. The idea that they would dismiss bullying is laughable at best. I wish someone could have told them that life actually gets better after they finish school. I guess the one tiny bit of comfort we can take is that at least they were not alone in the end.
