Two men died after their ultra light plane crashed onto a golf course in Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture, police said Sunday.

According to police, the aircraft, carrying two men aged 59 and 57, took off from Chikusei, Ibaraki Prefecture, at around 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Fuji TV reported that contact was lost with the plane soon after.

Police said the wrecked plane was found on the green of the 4th hole at a Tsukuba golf course by a club employee at around 6 a.m. The golf course is about 10 kilometers east of the airfield.

Odd. I thought ultralights only carried one. also what do they mean "contact was lost"? Are ultralights in constant contact with the ground?
