2 men hit by woman falling out of window… who was looking at another man who fell off rooftop

The vicinity of a single building in downtown Yokohama suddenly became a danger zone when a bizarre chain reaction of falls left four people injured.

The incident began shortly after 4 p.m. on Friday, when police received a call that a man in his 40s or 50s had fallen from the rooftop of a five-story building. In addition to the height he also reportedly had fallen in a very narrow gap between the neighboring building.

After the initial fall, a woman in her 40s looked out a window on the third floor of the same building to see what happened. However, in doing so, she lost her balance and also fell out. At the same time another man was looking through a window on the second floor to see what happened.

The woman who fell out the third floor window hit the man in his 30s in the head, while he was looking through the second floor window  She then hit another man, also in his 30s, who was standing on the ground.

Miraculously everyone is expected to survive and only received minor injuries, except for the first fallen man who is being treated for bone fractures. Since everyone is conscious and in stable condition, police are currently trying to unravel how all this happened from their testimony.

Readers of the news online breathed a sigh of relief but couldn’t help being amazed by the sheer flukiness of what happened.

“That’s a hell of an accident. I’m glad everyone is okay.”

“I hope they can all laugh about this someday, but it’s a good warning to be more careful.”

“I’m really happy no lives were lost, but what were these people doing?!”

“It makes me wonder if there’s something wrong with the building.”

“It sounds like one of those clips from the end of a Jackie Chan movie.”

“A good example of the dangers of rubbernecking.”

“Was this a cartoon?”

“I get that the other two men broke the woman’s fall, but how the hell did that first guy survive?”

Judging by the footage of the area, there appears to be a lot of things such as vents and wires that could have slowed the first man’s fall as well. Details over what caused it are still sketchy, but reports seem to suggest that it was accidental. If so, it serves as a reminder to be very careful in a high places, not only for our own safety but for the well-being of others too.

Why are people calling the woman who fell out of her window a 'nosey parker' or 'busy body'?

If YOU heard a noise outside (no doubt a cry and thumping/crashing sounds) wouldn't you look out to see what was going on? Or would you just ignore it?

Crazy. I'm glad everyone will survive.

The fact that thankfully nobody was seriously hurt, except the first guy who sounds like he will be fine, makes this story somewhat comical. Cartoons couldn't do better.

I feel really bad for the last guy though, as he didn't do anything particularly wrong. Though I am sure he questioned his sanity when three people fell from the sky.

Stranger than fiction.

Reminds me of the song "Murphy and the bricks"

Statistically, more people are ending up in the hospital from falling off buildings than they are from Omicron in Japan. J-Gov should issue a SOE and urge people stay away from tall buildings.

What an amazing series of events. Thankfully, all involved can live to tell what happened.

Did anyone else have to read the story twice to understand what happened?

Yes, I had to read that headline a couple of times. My first understanding was a woman had striked two guys before she fell out of a window. My thought was, "Wow! That's usually something out of a Hollywood movie or slap stick comedy TV show."

For once I actually want to see one of those awkward CG reconstructions the news usually likes to do.

Well - since everyone is conscious and in stable condition ???

What the heck ?

Consciousness and stability are definitely an issue !

They can blame it on the building instead of taking responsibility for being careless imbeciles.

Too sad to be funny.

Some Final Destination stuff right here.

I'm sitting here, busting a gut laughing at all the comments, after a nice spliff...(in FL)

This WAS in real life...

one of those clips from the end of a Jackie Chan movie

Jackie Chan movies usually have a comic edge. And this does sound like a cartoon or a comedy movie.

Thing is, most people don't survive falling over 3 stories. I'm just glad nobody got killed. In real life this ain't so funny at all.

I guess she really fell for that first guy. Or perhaps she just couldn't stand seeing him like that. Hopefully she will take the steps needed to get back to normal. (I hope this comment doesn't fall flat.)

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

The price of being busy body. LOL

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Good thing she lives only on the 3rd floor. She might have hit more if she lives at the top

1 ( +2 / -1 )

It's funny that the title is absolutely correct. My initial thought was "What?"

4 ( +4 / -0 )

At first glance, thought it was another story where the word “suicide” couldn’t be used (for some unexplained reason). - Pleased the hear all lived and will recover from their injuries.

… motives …

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Miraculously everyone is expected to survive and only received minor injuries,

Crazy! From the headline I had expected multiple deaths. What are these people, circus acrobats?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Unfortunate, but darkly funny nonetheless :)

At first glance the title of this article almost made me FALL off my feet, LOL

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Tricky thing, gravity. I didn't get where I am today by falling out of windows.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

So this would have been limited to a single accident, that of the first guy, if the woman had minded her own business. The moral of this story: don't be a Nosey Parker.

Did anyone else have to read the story twice to understand what happened?

I sure did, and I was sober.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Should that be a double or triple wammie?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

This sounds like a scene straight out of a Hanna-Barbers cartoon. Beep Beep anyone?

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Another; Only in Japan Moment

4 ( +8 / -4 )

I think I remember something similar in a Bugs Bunny cartoon. You can’t make this stuff up. Glad nobody was killed.

12 ( +12 / -0 )

Could even the greatest slapstick comedians come up with something so utterly ridiculous

10 ( +11 / -1 )

Plenty of time for looking out windows in downtown Yokohama it seems…

6 ( +7 / -1 )

You couldn't make this stuff up!

12 ( +12 / -0 )

This is a strange storey on several levels.

20 ( +20 / -0 )

not me, I needed 3 times…

Did anyone else have to read the story twice to understand what happened?

Wow! Just wow!
