cramp
one day ships from both sides will visit and patrol at the same time, and a skirmish will develop, and "hello ww3"

In a way, I almost wish they'll start fighting already. If a war is to start between the two nations, the later it starts the worse Japan's position gets.

China is smarting because it has finally sunk in that Japan won't let it steal the Senkaku Islands. That is why they are wanting negotiations to "shelve" the issue until sometimes in the future.

Recently, a professer from Yokohama National University named MurataTadayoshi said, these islands are not belong to Japan, he even published one book to prove this.

@iRobin Well, that's the problem with a free press and a country with too many bleeding hearts.
@A Realist You are right, and Japan shouldn't be fooled a second time. I actually agree with the Chinese position that the Japanese tacitly, if perhaps not explicitly allowed a "shelving", but in any case it should not be allowed to happen this time.

So what? There are always dissenters, how do you know this Murata Tadayoshi did not write his book just to be controversial and sell his book? No doubt there are scholars in China who would write a book saying that the Senkaku Islands belong to Japan. The difference is in China such a book would never get published.

Actually, it is unlikely he'll even write the book - even if he has doubts at most he'll choose another topic to write. Even before the Chinese government stops him he'll think about the harm he does to his country with his little book.
That is what Abe and the conservatives are talking about when they talk about patriotism. It is nice Japan has free speech and plurality, but in games like this, it is a disadvantage because any person who talks bad about his country gets worked up as a saint by the opposing nation...
