Eight deer belonging to the Kumamoto City Zoological and Botanical Gardens escaped from their enclosure on Monday afternoon. Police and officials said four were discovered within the garden perimeter, and one near the garden while the remaining the are still missing and likely to be outside the facility.
NTV quoted an official as saying that deer are usually allowed to move around inside the gardens. However, the gate that leads outside of the garden was left open while animal handlers were cleaning up before opening the garden.
On Tuesday morning, about 30 staff were searching for the missing deer. The gardens are near a park located close to the city’s central residential area.

They are just deer, no danger to the public, just let them go back to the wild, they'll be happier there anyway.
