A 3-year-old girl suffered a fractured skull after she was hit by a paraglider who lost control while trying to land in Tatsuno, Nagano Prefecture, on Monday afternoon.
According to TV Asahi, the girl was playing in a park about 50 meters from where the paraglider was supposed to land. At about 1 p.m., the 38-year-old paraglider came down and knocked the girl over with his foot. The man was quoted as saying that he lost control as he descended.
The man told police he was part of a group of about 20 paragliders who had been in the nearby mountains.

So ... these paragliders don't have any safety practices, like having a lookout for ones who are landing?

This is really bad luck. I hope the girl recovers completely.
100million n U won?
You mean like the kids parents?
Don't get me wrong, I feel it's a terrible thing to have happened to this child, however, where the hell are the parents? Too busy texting? Playing pachinko? I mean would you let your kid play around in a park when paragliders are floating around? 50m isn't very far when it comes right down to it.

20 paragliders taking part in the paragliding event, there should have been martials to supervise the predicted landing area. It was a recipe for disaster. Get well soon little one

I saw these guys, they flew over the F1 race.

Freak accident, it happens.

Without being there we can only speculate. My son almost got hit by a kayak that blew off the car roof as it was being tied down in a freak gust of wind. Never saw it coming but you better believe I made a point of him being a very safe distance away after that, regardless whether it was windy or not.
Paragliders would be even harder to control - they're supposed to fly.
In any case, I hope the little girl recovers and adequate safety measures are adopted around the country.

It's always all about the money…. It's always someone else's fault... take no individual responsibility. Every time an accident happens the money grubbers come out of the woodwork (or out from under rocks) and start screaming SUE..SUE.. SUE! Society is really getting pathetic with its inability to think as individuals, not to mention all the politically correct horse $hit.

That is an unfortunate accident. Really nobody to blame here. I hope the girl is ok.

"He knocked the girl over with his foot."
Does that mean he kicked her in the head with hard shoes, or that she fell over and hit her head on something else?
Either way a sad combination of bad luck.

What are the odds? Hope she recovers very soon and returns to school doing what little girls are supposed to do.

Paragliders practice near my place along the Sagami River everyday. They launch from a park, glide along the river, then land back where they started. No safety barriers or safety precautions are in place. They fly close to roads, houses, and huge power towers all the time.
