Never seen meals served even to passengers on such a short flight.

Pilots are not allowed to have the same meal. For exactly this reason.

Which statistically doesn't change the risk for the pilots, because usually the cases are very rare for the passengers. So if the pilots deny the meal for the passengers that is highly probably ok, and then instead draw again the lottery... It's at least the same chance of getting food poisoned.

USN, United pilots get one meal on the Guam-Japan flight. Their choice if it’s on the flight up or the return. It’s a 9 hour duty day for them, do you think they pack a lunch?

The article says only the students got sick and some of them said they felt sick before the flight so obviously it was something they had before the flight. Otherwise, other passengers would have gotten sick from eating the same in-flight meal.

How sad, the poor kids saved up, the parents and the grandparents helped, and they were looking forward all year long only to be poisoned while on vacation.

End of last year I had food poisoning from oysters. I was so bad for ten days. Never again.

Ummm... yeah. So, they just all suddenly got sick by chance... you know... after eating the in-flight meal. The only thing that would surprise me less is if it were a school trip and the sick all students.

I hate to knock my counties airlines. But compared to Asian companies. No comparison.
