4-year-old boy dies after being hit by car driven by mother

This article does not say's clearly how it happen??? Wonder it's another murder by  the 33-year-old Mom Miho Monji??? How come mother don't care/see when she knows the boy who had been playing with his brothers and sisters??? Poor boy RIP

People are so careless here. I just had a go at the police the other night for giving ME a warning, when a woman ran right in front of my car (while moving). No common sense.

From the wording of Japanese media there was no reversing involved.

Looks like she wasn't even reversing, the base premise of the claim.

This is why people need to stop judging based on JT articles. There is never enough information.

This happens way too often around the world. It must stop.

Very tragic, while the usual soulless folk will cast judgement on the poor woman and on Japanese society, the rest of us rational individuals will realize this was a horrible accident, and can and has occurred in many other parts of the world.

Yes, in question form I know brothers and sisters means siblings. In simple sentence form, brothers and sisters makes me assume that there were 5 or more kids which may mean she may lack control of kids since 5 is a lot.

No doubt she had her head hanging out the window or had the door open while she was reversing and had no idea what was happening at the other three points of her car. I remember an older Japanese person telling me that Japanese are good drivers. I just laughed at him and asked him if he opened his door while reversing. Of course he said, “Yes! Doesn’t everybody?” Japanese are some of the worst drivers I have ever seen. Most have no idea how to use mirrors and watching them reverse a car is amusing, albeit extremely dangerous. Add to this disregarding speed limits, stop signs, red lights and pedestrian crossings and you start to understand why so many kids get killed on the roads in Japan. Yes, I understand that, ‘statistically’ Japan’s road death toll is around average, but this statistic is per capita not per the amount of drivers. Over 50% of Japanese people do not drive. Therefor, if you have the population for this statistic it is extremely high.

Japanese are very poor drivers.

I can't even remember having read this type of case in news (local or national) for over 10 years. In France. And we drive probably ten times more...

Another one? This is becoming a huge issue in Japan.

This kind of accident happens more frequently than people would think (on a worldwide scale).

I think that sensor technology is one of many ways to cut down on this kind of accident.

I'll just say I'm grateful that I don't have to park in some of the places people put their cars. Some people have spots that are 30cm wider than the car on each side, with no visibility on either side.

Not to go off track from the issue, "brothers and sisters" means siblings here or did he have 2 plus brothers and 2 plus sisters? Maybe having many kids would be hard to keep track of their whereabouts.

Another one? This is becoming a huge issue in Japan. Poor little baby gone to soon.
