5-year-old boy recovering after fall from 6th floor balcony

Police in Yokohama said Sunday a 5-year-old boy is recovering in hospital after he fell from the 6th floor balcony of his family's apartment.

According to police, the incident occurred just after 11 a.m. Saturday at the apartment in Tsuzuki Ward, Fuji TV reported. The boy's mother called 119 to report that her son had fallen from the balcony.

The boy landed on top of the covered entranceway below. He was taken to hospital, with severe head and back injuries, but doctors said he will recover.

The boy's parents were both at home at the time of the incident, but told police they did not notice him go out onto the balcony.

what a miracle.i just find it hard to believe that this young man fell from such a height and still remain alive.i want both parents to go to the house of God and give thanks for this great miracle even if they dont believe their is almighty God.things of this nature is a clear sign that this young man will become someone great in the future.i wish him a speedy recovery and to stay away from balcony.

Thank God they had a covered entranceway. I reckon it would have been a miracle if the poor kid had walked away uninsured, instead of suffering 'severe head and back injuries' that he may recover from.

Yes, it can best be described as a genuine miracle! But if he had landed on the hard ground directly, it would have been fatal. But luckily, he landed on the roof of the entranceway. And I guess the roof was relatively flexible.

My second son accidentally fell down a whole flight of stairs when he was at the age of 2. But strangely enough, he didn't get injured at all. Of course, this certainly cannot be compared to the falling from 6th floor.

What I want to say is little kids including toddlers tend more toward leaving it to nature, while adults, in addition to their relatively-heavy body weight, tend more toward self-conscious maintaining awkward positions and getting injured seriously.
