Fifty-one police and volunteers on Saturday conducted another search for missing tsunami victims along the shoreline of Kesennuma, Miyagi Prefecture -- four years and one month after the March 11, 2011 disaster.
Such searches are common on the 11th day of each month in Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima -- the three prefectures hit hardest in the disaster.
The searches for missing people are conducted at the request of families of the missing.
In Saturday's search, teams looked along the coast, but no remains were found, TV Asahi reported.
The National Police Agency said a total of 15,891 people are confirmed to have died in the disaster, with another 2,584 still listed as missing.

i doubt theyll find anybody else, most of those missing would have been washed out to sea with the millions on tonnes of debris

So sad for the people who can never get any closure from this.

Looking for bodies, not victims. A dead body is not a person.

I really can't understand the mentality of these people who need a body for closure. Whether they find the bodies or not (very unlikely) it isn't going to change anything. Not trying to be rude, just practical.
