Wow so expected, as usual. Those things are only slightly different from cars. Extreme caution has to be taken in consideration when operating drones.

I'm surprised he got permission. Or, maybe he did, but did not fly according to the filed plans. He was flying within only 3 or 4 meters of the crowd and carrying things - both of which are prohibited.

Not a small Drone, better care should have been taken.

Carrying things with a drone is expressly forbidden. I wonder if he included plans to do that in his application to the Transport Ministry.

Next is flying cars, already a reality. Then next is self flying cars...

Flying cars are not a reality yet, most designs are still single passengers only.

Would love to see a design that caters for families plus luggage would need to be big.

I suspect he got the permission to operate a loaded drone over a city park full of people (expressly forbidden by law) because the event was organized by a local tourism association i.e. money flowed in several directions.

According to the organizer, the man said he had acquired the transport ministry's permit to operate a drone at the event.

Who could possibly have known such a thing could happen?

Time to rethink permission for such things until there are certain qualifications for pilots and/or drones are more reliable in general.

This somehow reminds me of the classic sitcom WKRP in Cincinnati: the episode in which someone thought it would be a good idea to throw thanksgiving turkey from a helicopter.

What was the cause of the crash? If it was overloading then the operator is at fault. If it was a random crash the drone designer is at fault and needs to incorporate a safe land feature in case of error, bug, etc.

If all they got was a scratch, then they are very lucky. A small drone, unable of carrying anything, can give you a deep gash requiring stitches. The one in the story could remove a finger or an eye, along with causing injuries requiring several stitches.

It has been speculated that it was the fact that he was carrying something. The video suggests that one of the propellers malfunctioned. Who knows.

Hasn't taken long for an accident to happen... now the next question is, what will we learn from it ?

It was big, commercial drone, not small one. Somebody recorded video, when drone started to sounds strange. On that video you can see that something breaks up, fall off, two rotors stops and suddenly drone falls into the crowd.
