Very nice way to move forward. More of these sorts of events should be supported.

That is A. Hardcore B. Amazing C. Very very cool.
Nothing but respect for these lads. PROPER distance that. Wow.
I had a Taiwanese girlfriend in 2004; she was lovely, and really showed me how nice some of the Taiwanese people are. Love this story.

A very cool thing to do. Swimming 20-25km each, in the open ocean is no easy task.

its good to see positive things concidering i hear some negitive stuff, hatered. Taiwan is Great. and Japan is very thankful for the help it recieve from many countries. any time we (US) recieve help im also thankful. Supporting each other is what countries need to do.

Thank you Taiwan and thanks to the swimmers, too.

Very impressive effort. Stories like this give me hope for the future of Japan.

By the way, those red-crow cranes given to Taiwan are called タンチョウ (tancho) in Japan, not to be confused with "kancho".

Great job!

Great news, thank you guys!

Yep, that was a good job. I'm not sure I could have done that even when I was swimming in high school.

Japanese had Tojo, Taiwanese have Chinese. Without those pests the two people definitely are great friends.

The article notes this was a six-man relay. Assuming each man swam equal 25km stints, that's considerably less than swimming the 34km across the English channel. Not that it's any less cool, but just to add some perspective.
