Most of these are preventable. Don't be a statistic.

It is not the temperatures only but the mugginess that makes it harder.

Stay indoors in an air conditioned store and drink lots of water, eat a banana or other potassium food.

Just sitting around doing nothing is not the best answer. A bit of daily exercise is needed to increase stamina and strength to battle the harsh conditions of the heat. A jog or walk early morning,a swim or go to the gym. Of course stay hydrated and well rested as well.

Regular hydration. Very, very important!

I've been here for quite a while now and this is the most brutal summer I remember. There have been higher temperatures a few years back, but not for this long a period, and not with such a high rate of humidity. When you're walking on pavement in the middle of the day you can REALLY feel it.

I guess temp and humidity are inconceivable? what's the deal?

About 3 years ago, in Osaka that has been much worse. This year (for full day over 30 and night over 25), that started mid-July and some other years mid-June.

When you're walking on pavement in the middle of the day you can REALLY feel it.

I agree that totally depends on what you do. Maybe your schedule this year makes it worse.

! If we had 99% humidity but only with temps around 5 centigrade would have people getting sick and or dieing??

Yes, they do. People with cardiovascular conditions get strokes provoked by cold air. There is a Winter death peak like there is a Summer one.

.unless you wanna over heat and end up in the hospital or dead.

I may change my mind, but I think when I will in a condition that makes that I have to stay indoor permanently with heating 6 months a year and with air-con 4 months a year... I'll lose the desire to keep living.

It is BOTH the high temps and this HORRIBLY high level of HUMIDITY!! If we had 99% humidity but only with temps around 5 centigrade would have people getting sick and or dieing?? I do not thinks so, so time to slow down your outdoor activities and drinks lots of WATER!! Aquarius, Pocari Sweat etc..no time to go around running etc...unless you wanna over heat and end up in the hospital or dead.
