9-year-old boy dies after being hit by bus

Police said Tuesday that a 9-year-old boy died after he was hit by a bus in Yokohama.

According to police, the accident occurred in Naka Ward at around 4:30 p.m. Monday. TV Asahi reported that the boy was on a pedestrian crossing at an intersection when he was hit by the bus as it turned right.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident and said they may charge the driver with negligent driving.
