really have a lot of respect Emperor emeritus Akihito and his wife, wish many of the right wing nutters would wake up and watch how a proper head of state should act when representing their country

Prayers for a speedy recovery and respect Emperor emeritus Akihito, get well. I really wish the media would not pressure him any longer in the spotlight as he has more than earned his privacy.

Please take care and get well soon, Emperor emeritus Akihito. The terrible luck The Emperor and Empress Emeritus are having with their health the past few years surely has to change for the better soon.

There are millions looking forward to seeing them at Tokyo 2020!!

The sad fact is that elderly people get ill, often seriously.

They are both at the end of thir tether, anyone who thinks they are going to last much longer with their health problems is just being cruel. I hope for them their family and this country they get a restful peaceful sleep they have served enough.

Emperor Emeritus? Just learned a new word. Anyway, I hope he enjoys his retirement.

I’m glad that he recovered. I am also really glad that the Diet made this exemption so that way he could step down from the throne. Because it wouldn’t do anybody any good if he was forced to continue to be the emperor, considering his failing health.
