BS again!

I doubt it. These clowns can't chew and walk at the same time, they will be more focused on their elections this fall.

Fall is September 23rd

What exactly does Kono do all day?

I mean besides saying ignorant things every few months?

They need to make a show, A Day in the Life of Kono.

It would be the biggest comedy ever!

as the nation aims to fully vaccinate its population by October or November.

Is he going to bring the SDF or the police to force the millions like me who don't want to take the jab? Kono is beyond delusional.

As many recall from their trip abroad in April when the cherry blossoms in D.C. were most lovely, PM Suga promised Sep 2021 delivery and a completion by Oct - Nov 2021.

“Suga has announced a goal of completing vaccinations for all those who want the two-dose regimen by October or November.”

“[Kono] said Pfizer and Moderna booster shots will arrive early next year,[2022] in time for medical workers and the elderly, who were prioritized and mostly got their second shots by July [2022}.” -

Kono has also said in the past Japan is ahead of the rest of the world in vaccinations.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

Before it was "full vacciantions before the Olympics", before that it was "by summer", next we'll have "by the end of this year".

5 ( +7 / -2 )

well, I guarantee Japan won’t be fully vaccinated for sure…

I know I won’t be

could be just in time to start the 3rd boosters which apparently everyone is going to need 6 months after their second dose.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Whatever assessment they did before coming up with these targets, the contamination incident was surely not taken into account.

They need to reevaluate their targets.

the nation aims to fully vaccinate its population by October or November.

And Mr Kipling aims to be twenty years younger with a full head of hair!

We probably have about the same chance of success.

There are discussions about the third shot, but let’s see which happens first?

The first, second shot. (But go for it ) I say the third shot is probably a year or more away from actually being discussed then a meeting then oh we missed that window.

like an evacuation in the breeze so much time so little puff for you and me.

Kono must be either delusional or a liar. Those vaccines are not designed to prevent infection. Haven’t you guys heard of ADE (Antibody dependent Enhancement)?

Watch this.

Just how disconnected is this guy from the field?

All the vaccines went to the elite areas, while areas where common people live received almost none. While Minato-ku will finish vaccinations soon and have plenty of appointment slots, people in the "poorer" areas cannot take those spots because vouchers are limited by the city/ward you live in. Not to mention many people still have not yet even received their vouchers!!!!

There are no appointments available left this year for the majority of the under-65 population for this ENTIRE year yet he wants to finish vaccinations by this fall?

Just look at the lines at Shibuya. Currently, for most people, there's only the 300 or so shots / day from the Shibuya center and about 2000 shots a week from the JSDF center.

That would only be about 18 weeks left this YEAR and assume that both the Shibuya center and JSDF center can vaccinate about 5000 people per week, it would be only 90,000 vaccinations by end of this year. It would be a miracle if they can even increase vaccination rate in the under 65 group in Tokyo by 10% by end of this year, especially for the under 39 group, it would be a miracle if it even hits 30% vaccinated by end of this year.

Before anyone tell people to make appointments, only people in privileged areas or in privileged companies have access. The areas where most common people live were not supplied with any vaccines by the national government and there is ZERO hope to schedule an appointment within this year.

Ridiculous. The UK started vaccinating in December and, unlike Japan, have a proper and full on vaccination programme and a smaller population yet won’t have full vaccination by the end of this year or any other. Kono is talking utter nonsense, and he knows it.

Most people I know aren't getting it..

but then again I don't know a lot of people! Ha!

But seriously with these containments cropping up everywhere it won't do anything to instill confidence in this useless vaccine!

-4 ( +10 / -14 )

There's absolutely zero chance for Japan to hit 80% vaccination rate before Q2 of 2022, AFTER the untested domestic vaccines comes online. You heard it here first

. Kono is just lying to the public, as there is no way the majority of the under 65 people will even get an appointment before November. If he really wants people to get vaccines, then he would drop the vouchers or at least let the common people use the open vaccination spots in Minato-ku and Chiyoda-ku. But nope, of course he won't, as the vaccines are only reserved for the elites and the privileged.

The Tokyo Olympic variant will show its teeth soon enough.

-6 ( +5 / -11 )

80% is possible in Japan. There's less vaccine hesitancy here than in the USA where 50% of the population have their minds poisoned by Trump and Republicans.
