How about the government doesn’t violate the constitution by paying for these rituals and instead uses the money to address the coronavirus issue?

Yeah, I think we have other things to throw money at now. Like saving the whole economy. The royals can dig into their own pockets if they want a party. They've got plenty.

Very few people attend these ceremonies; just a handful of the chosen elite, vetted by Imperial Household Agency. The average Suzuki or Satoh has little idea that they are even happening.
