Why doesn't the Japanese government do more to help Japanese women before bringing in a large number of foreign workers?

Do you think more Japanese women would love to work in construction, farming and shipbuilding?

When the Japanese companies do not treat their own staff with respect then what chances do foreigners in Japan have?

Where are the support systems in place to aid them?

The program won't last past the coming recession.

Don't make mistake like UK where they choose top skilled workers.

That's NOT what the UK did. The immigrants from the 1950s to 70s were largely West and East Indians with low skills who entered old declining industries, like textiles, after which Britain's unemployment rocketed upward. Don't make THAT mistake.

Japan should hire only low skilled poor people from developing countries. These people will work hard for their family and also shows interest in learning to improve their lifestyle. They should have good life too.

Don't make mistake like UK where they choose top skilled workers. But they end up taking jobs from British and even arrogant of their degree.

Good for them, just be careful not to overdo it.

345,150 is not enough, but it's a good start.

Easier visas are not going to be enough. They are going to have to start paying these trainers to come to Japan after the news of all the mistreatment is shared.

One Japanese woman made to following comment to me regarding this issue:

Why doesn't the Japanese government do more to help Japanese women before bringing in a large number of foreign workers?

The people spoke against this whole idea from the start. And Abe and his cronies didn't listen to a word. They rammed it through regardless of all the warnings. Garden variety dictatorship.

Wrong timing. A global recession looming ahead. I'd personally stay away from manufacturing, shipbuilding, construction and engineering. Looks like a disaster waiting to happen.

Anything health care related is recession-proof but the japanese language requirements are dreadfully high.

If you're planning to get "Specified Skilled Worker No. 2 status". I'm telling you, those sectors are most at risk!
