That's a lot of dead.

But a whole lot more alive.

I think bed occupancy rates should be the important headline here.

70% in Kanagawa, Hiroshima, and Nagano*, just over 40% in Tokyo.

Case numbers, which haven't been all that important since three variants ago (think delta was when they started declaring State of Emergency based on bed occupancy over 50%?) can be given after that.

In any case, there's no real appetite for ineffective restrictions again (Please see China). So enjoy bonenkai season everyone! :)

Now I get where you are getting these numbers from Eastman. 60% of Japanese pop triple or more vaxxed yet still same percentage dying…ippso facto vaccines are useless for this variant!

Amazing logic as usual Sanji =)

@Wobot. Interesting, and I hope it is. Just wondering what your 'hunch' is based on.

Kenchi,

inventing medical terms (what are "Covid Morbilities"?) and numbers, are we? Whatever gets you through the day, I guess. But why exactly? What difference does it make to you if the number is 243, 97, or 3?

covid morbidities (forgive me if the spelling is incorrect) are things such as age, compromised immune systems, obesity and other factors which make people more susceptible to sickness, especially to Covid. It’s not a made up term.

The number I took was the number in the article above. Today’s coronavirus “related” deaths just so happened to be 243 today…

why is that number so important??? well if you consider the total population of Japan, then compare the number I was referring to…. then you got a sense of how “deadly” the virus is.

If the number of ordinarily healthy people are dying in large numbers then I would say that it would be pretty deadly.

if the number of ordinarily healthy people that are dying is quite low then I would say it would not be very deadly.

even a non adjusted number of 243 out of 124.7 million people (japan’s population), is a very very small number

Take tsk

243 minus those who died from other reasons “with” Covid, minus those with complications due to Covid Morbilities = the number that’s actually important for me.

more deaths everyday.high vaccination rate country and all covid "science" included.something wrong here.60% of deaths vaccinated people.

any thoughts?

If everyone is vaccinated 100% of the deaths would be vaccinated.

But I'm sure you probably wouldn't understand that

It’s an ingenious move of jgov to maintain the vaccine status check for international visitors - not only does it help prevent the logistical headache of unvaccinated foreigners getting seriously ill while in Japan

I fail to see the logic or intelligence in this statement. Unvaccinated or less than 3 dose participant visitors are more than welcome to visit Japan.

They just need a pre-departure PCR test showing a negative result.

Unvaccinated or people with less than 3 doses can still then contract Covid while traveling in Japan and possibly need hospital assistance. Hardly a logistical headache.

People can also have skiing accidents, slips and falls etc which also need treatment. Unvaccinated or not.

How is that for intelligence?

It’s an ingenious move of jgov to maintain the vaccine status check for international visitors - not only does it help prevent the logistical headache of unvaccinated foreigners getting seriously ill while in Japan but it also acts as a filter for higher quality tourists, as studies have shown a strong correlation between a positive vaccine status and higher education/socioeconomic status.
