Japan reports 15,372 new coronavirus cases

That's a lot of cases. Borders should be closed. It's not worth risking the lives of people here...

The number of coronavirus-related deaths reported nationwide was 20.

Seems low even for a Monday, good

Like the virus, the number of cases reports will be with us forever.

For those of you who still want borders closed, people 100% masked up, people to stay locked down at home,  multiple vaccinations,  and who worry about hundreds of thousands of hospitalizations because of Covid, ambulances being turned away from hospitals and dangerous foreigners coming here (all comments in the past week), please take your meds so you can feel safe and secure. Such meds really do work!

The 30 million or so Japanese that haven't been vaccinated seem to be doing just fine as well.

Vaccines act protecting even unvaccinated people that get a free ride from the immunity of others.

Still, unvaccinated people do quite less "fine" thant vaccinated people with the same demographics.

Huge numbers still! And going to get even higher with the new variant plus the 8th wave, on its way here shortly.

Lockdown, mask up; the vaccines are not doing as well as were promised.

I know several unvaccinated people who have always refused to wear masks and have never had Covid (that they know of).

think about it.

Poster saying borders should be closed...Silly...ALL of Japan's covid cases the past months are from WITHIN the country...not from anyone entering......So funny, PGA golf tourney in Japan this past weekend...all spectators wearing masks...it is ridiculous....outside in open area's having to wear mask...I don't get this at all..

Of course, all the thousands of people getting positive every day and reported here are defacto vaccinated by the latest variant of the virus or by a combination of different variants if they are exposed to them.

i’m in that group. I even intentionally exposed myself to the virus looking after my vaccinated sick wife when she caught it

I thought it didn't work unless we all got it? Also, zero data to back that statement up.
